I've not signed anything yet have the account linked to LTSB and NW, and have passed money in both directions between IceSave and those two account. Didn't even physically sign the DD mandates.

Account opened recently, good service so far

Letters appear to come from Newcastle, so probably a customer service base there.
But the banks are made of marble,
With a guard at every door,
And the vaults are stuffed with silver,
    That the farmer sweated for.
  • I've got no complaints. In fact checking the last time I transferred money, I noticed something very interesting. Requested transfer from Icesave... left my account 15th February. Arrived at my Nationwide account 14th February!
So it takes minus one day! It's a lot better than the other banks when money disappears for 3 to 4 days... Ok.. the transfer is not instantaneous but you certainly don't lose anything. Excellent service.

For me, transfers to and from both Cahoot and Nationwide have been very quick (either two or three days) and the only hassle is that you need to fill in two forms per linked account (one for money in, one for money out).
I don't understand this either. I've only filled out one form and I've been able to make transfers both in and out.
  • Thanks for all your comments everyone :T

I activated/logged in to my a/c for the first time yesterday, and made my initial deposit instruction. It was all very straightforward, and hopefully the money should land in my icesave a/c on the 24th.

    QUESTION...

Is it possible to print out a transaction summary/balance? With my Birmingham Midshires internet easy access a/c (that I just closed), you could. With B.Mids I used to print off balance statements quite often, so I always had an upto date physical record of my balance.

    Thanks in advance folks :money:

My experiences of Icesave have generally been positive. The only thing that slightly confused me (and several other users on this site) was the setting up of Direct Debits.

When you go through the online application process, Icesave's website isn't worded very well and I wasn't sure - at first - what DD instructions I needed to set up. It wasn't clear whether I was setting up a one-off payment or a regular payment.

What you actually do is create a link between your Icesave account and your regular bank account so that you can subsequently push and pull money between the two. I then just waited until my Icesave account was set up and then pulled in a one-off payment from my current account (you need a minumum of £200 in your Icesave account I believe). You can then pull in further one-off payments or set up a regular payment from your current account, all via the Icesave site.

Sorry, rambled there a bit - but just keep an eye out when you're in the DD bit of the application process.

You can display statements in printer friendly format and print them from their webpage, if that's what you're asking.

Your parents did give them the wrong account number to transfer the money to, didn't they?
