Have been in touch with my friends who do the weather predictions (they are storm chasers and are usually very accurate) the first link is here

You can sign up for updates and their facebook page as well.

The second guy in the states is getting in touch with me over the weekend....he does say watch for a very wintry few days around 18th of this month in the UK....

Signs are that there is another winter storm starting to form off the US coast that could hit around Thanksgiving....more details later....I hope it doesn't happen, they have taken so much punishment...

    db Weather according to me
Look out the Window sun is shining temp in double figures day off time to get out there and enjoy the day. Must look for a sledge to enjoy in the snow.
Just one day until I'm a Celebrity starts, can't wait!

  • For those that dont have one, Lidl's have a foldable shovel in. I think it was £5.99 but v.useful for popping in the car for clearing snow. ;)

That worries me too as our new Aldi's opened yesterday, biggest I have seen and more variety but some items did not seem any cheaper...as long as they keep some goods for those on a limited budget.

I go to either Aldi or Lidl every three or four weeks, both smallish stores and quite honestly I can't get my whole week's shopping there because they just don't have a wide enough range. I like their free range chickens at 4.99, and their cooked meats, esp salami and chorizo, and the Super Six fruit and veg are good prices although by the evening none of the popular offers are left. I got coconut milk for curries for 89p, it's more than twice that in Mr T. I also like Aldi's multigrain bread, but dried pasta is much more expensive than Mr T's value penne, the cat and dog food range is pitiful, no lemon squash, only small bottles of skimmed milk... I still had to go to Mr T to finish off, and it's a frustrating waste of time out in the sticks where it's a long drive to any food shops.

Nice fluffy socks, two pairs for 2.99 looked good, I might get some next time if they're still in stock. Three pairs of mine have worn through and gone in the draught excluder collection bag!

And on the subject of draughts, many thanks for all the brilliant suggestions for covering my non-magnetic keyhole. I'm trying the most basic, masking tape, but if the family are too heavy-handed with it I'll work through the other suggestions, changing the door furniture might be a good idea at some point and I can't afford it just now but have saved the links, thanks.

Stuffing the chimney up with old sheets etc will stop a lot of the drafts.

I've read posts where people put the pillows in a bin liner - not entirely sure why though :D

As part of preparing the car, need to get some cash out so have some spare cash (not much though) in the car. As well as some change.
:) Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage
