yes, and some threads stay bold even after you've been in and read them to try and clear it. There are random bold and not bold threads over most of the forums I've looked at, and going into the thread to read it again (in an effort to make it not bold) doesn't change the bold status so it still looks unread.
Now this may just be coincidence but a lot of these randomly bold threads, that don't change from bold once read, seem to be the stickies and the threads with multiple pages

 well I'm glad it isn't just me this time:D0

I have to say though that having a Mark Forums Read facility that doesn't do what it says is rather pointless
When you have a busy board or not enough time (or even inclination in some cases!) to go through all the unread threads in any board, the ability to mark threads read en masse is vital. Why has that facility stopped working now (and is it just temporary or <shudder> permanent)? 0 -
Maybe it's not a coincidence that this arose about the same time as whatever server problems slowed down the connection last night.
I'm wondering about deleting the cookie and logging back in, but I can't see what that will do.
Would there be more feedback if this went on the Techie board, or can someone send queries to the site tech people?0 -
the mark as read is working for me now but it doesn't change the bold to normal unless you go into every thread:rolleyes:redfox wrote:I have to say though that having a Mark Forums Read facility that doesn't do what it says is rather pointless

so when you look at it your eyes tell you they are still unread.................. which makes it hard going round the site and very confusing0 -

It may have something to do with the site problems last night but logging out or clearing cache make no differance at all,I tried them all:D0 -
redfox wrote:Exactly, so it isn't actually marking them as read otherwise they would turn non-bold...
yeah,it's marking them as in ,taking the envelope marking back to closed but not making them non-bold which makes them still appear unread ,which I believe andrea said is what happens ...........................it's all very odd looking0 -
erm, yesterday i was asked to modify the links within POSTS to bold so that they are more visible.
however, that also affected other areas like the navbar and the who's online bits. it is WIP and i still need to find all the affected areas that were with the 'ALT1' stylesheet class and migrate them to 'ALT2'.0 -
phew, it's back to normal now - excellent, thanks very much Dimitar :T0
