I took that to mean the REPLACEMENT wasn't physically bought in the shop. I asked about the ORIGINAL transaction. (Hence the word "original" in my previous post).

Not entirely sure that's relevant though ... if vouchers are offered as a remedy and they are used towards another purchase, is that a NEW transaction which infer NEW rights? (i.e. the original transaction is now closed).0 -
I've had an email from Vox to say that the amp has now gone back to the shop. They didn't say what was wrong with it so off to phone the shop soon. Can I get my money back ? I'm £50 out of pocket after paying £13 for a new valve that I didn't need and £37 for a courier.Surely I can be reimbusred ? If so...form Vox or the shop ?0

Your contract (and SOGA rights) is with the shop.0

I've had an email from Vox stating that the amp was fitted with faulty volume and treble pots which they replaced,so it's on it's way back to me.However I'm £50 out of pocket. Can I now claim that back and from whom ?0

As they admitted the unit was faulty then the shop should reimburse your consequencial losses. getting them to do that though is a different matter. If they point blank refuse then small claims action would be the only way.0

Yes, and from the shop.0

Since I cant sleep, i located the relevant section from SoGA for you:F348BRepair or replacement of the goods
(1)If section 48A above applies, the buyer may require the seller—
(a)to repair the goods, or
(b)to replace the goods.
(2)If the buyer requires the seller to repair or replace the goods, the seller must—
(a)repair or, as the case may be, replace the goods within a reasonable time but without causing significant inconvenience to the buyer;
(b)bear any necessary costs incurred in doing so (including in particular the cost of any labour, materials or postage). You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
Called the shop today to get a tracking no for the courier as it was now 4.45pm and waited in all day and still no sign. Was told I'd be called back as they had to call the courier...5 mins later...I was told that it had been delivered !! Signed for and all !! I said that I was on their system..address and all...and haven't received nowt. They called back again with the news that the courier had left it at an address tha was not mine...maybe a neighbour ! So...upon walking around to all the neighbours...no amp in sight.
I was then called again with an address...which turns out is down the road.I've driven down there but there's no answer...so I left a note and will call again tomorrow morning.
Now the thing is...I changed three of my guitar lesson clients from today to tomorrow...and I also had a gig tonight which was postponed as ...I've NO AMP ! So..that's now £37 for the courier to pick it up...and a loss of £140 for the gig !!! ...and...my amp could now be Borneo !
There must be some kind of compensation now I can claim...even if I manage to get my amp back tomorrow ??
Unbelievable ..................:mad:0 -
Dude, you gotta have more than one amp. Even a small bass amp would be enough for emergencies, even for gigs as well as tuition, you get more bottom end for a start - and you can always hire or borrow one in from someone.
It definitely sounds like you need to find a new shop, though - when mine stopped working, the guys at my local shop tested it for free, then would have sent it back to the supplier for no charge.
But, perhaps more usefully, this http://www.voxamps.com/support/servicepolicy/ is Vox's warranty policy. It says
'Carriage is chargeable on all non warranty work and on warranty work that has been returned as a result of incorrect operation.'
and as the pots weren't !!!!!!ed up by you, there shouldn't be a charge for carriage, valves or anything else - unless it was actually one that the shop palmed you off with that had already come in as faulty and they bodge-jobbed it in the first place - so Vox don't see it as a warranty repair.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll
