I bought a new Vox Ac30VR from a shop in Southend last Feb,It has 12 mnths warranty on the product. It started cutting out in April and has done so numerous times. I returned it back to the shop last week for them to return it to Vox.I received some instructions from the shop in trying a couple of things out to remedy the cutting out which included buying a new valve at £13...which didn't solve the problem.I have also had to pay £37 for a courier to return the amp back to the shop. They say that there will be no return fee returning the amp back to me.
Can I ask for the £13 and the £37 to be refunded to me? Where do I stand? They also wouldn't give me a replacement amp saying it's not the shops policy.Thanks.

If this was a distance sale then the answer would be very easy. However you bought this in a shop so you would normally need to return an item to the place of purchase for a remedy under SOGA to be applied. I'm not sure whether such returns costs are recoverable. (I'm assuming the £37 was for you to get the amp back to the shop).0

Did you buy it from them physically in the shop? Just to clarify.

Like it !! 11 !
It was a replacement for something else that broke down ! They wouldn't give a refund on that one as it was over 12 mnths...gave me a credit which I bought the amp with..paid a bit extra for the Vox.So...didn't physically buy it in the shop. The amp weighs 48lb !
PS. Due to not having the amp I missed Stonehenge this year !!0 -
Was the original purchase made in the shop or online/by phone (i.e. "at a distance")? If the latter, does the shop normally offer such "distance selling"opportunities? (The answers to these may greatly affect you rights to a refund of postage costs).0
