Vodafone have raised my line rental and premium call charges

Not enough info, they are allowed to increase the price plan and core services by RPI, perhaps expand a little more on what Voda have said.

A similar rise was last year: Vodafone to Change Prices from 11 Oct 20110

On it's own, probably not, but it depends on your usage and not ONLY the RPI (Which incidentally, is currently 2.5% and they have an average increase around 2.4%... )
If you look at the Terms and Conditions;
11 Ending this agreement
a Either you or we may end this agreement by giving the other 30 days’ notice in writing. Your notice must include your mobile number and your signature or appropriate security details. You must pay the charges during the notice period.
b You may end this agreement by writing to us if:
• we increase your charges in the UK which has the effect of increasing your total charges (based on your usage in any of the previous three months) by more than 10% and you write to us before the increase applies; or
• we change this agreement to your significant disadvantage including changing or withdrawing services (we will tell you if this is the case) and you write to us within one month of us telling you about the change. This does not apply if the change or withdrawal relates to services which you can cancel without us ending this agreement.
If you use the premium rate services such as directory enquiries for example, then the increase is around 45%, so the total impact on your bill may exceed 10% if you use it for several minutes in a month.
They also removed Vodafone Passport, which was a big selling point for me, but they make a point of highlighting "UK Features" as being the dealbreakers.
They also made increases to this effect last year, which were much more broad, so if you are more than 12 months into your contract, they have breached several conditions of your original agreement across the same period.0 -
Second price increase in 12 months - brilliant.
Hilariously, the put the last one down to "simplifying" their price plans by rounding them up, only for the impending increase to change that all again.
Still, it's not like they only made an additional £10.5m from the last increase...0 -
have just got the happy news about increasing charges from Vodafone. In t&c is only, that they increase accordingly to being charged themselves. I would pay anything more, if VAT jumps, license jumps, so on... My contract has 7 months to go.Called them up - the answer - everyone has increased, we the last...yeah, right.I contested via email, and will be done by the letter in next week. do not know any base to pay more, accordingly to they T&C.what is templates to "I do not agree to be rip off, when I have signed for a set charge every month??"0

Whilst you have every right to complain and dispute, you did not sign a contract for a set charge, you signed a contract which states the network can increase rates if it wishes, and if those increases are greater than RPI or more than 10% different you can end the agreement.
If you intend writing to them, stick to the facts, and be sure what you write is correct.====0 -
Stopping Vodafone Passport and replacing it with a £3 per day charge is really annoying . I have close family living abroad and have used this for a few years now with the calls taken out of my monthly minutes. Have 10 months to run on my contract aswell so can't get out of it
. Think I've been with Vodafone too long now and time for a change when I can! 0
