    Number 7 Today!!!

Shopping tomorrow, though, so need to make sure I get a few more NSDs this week. Wednesday and Thursday should be definite ones, and a couple more closely following should hopefully take me to 11 NSDs this time next week. Then there will just be 4 to go to hit my target.

(Note Bdini was quick to reassure people that the crowbar was safely stowed away, but I see no mention of the dreaded soggy paintbrush, and what about the manky kipper? I bet it's lurking somewhere, something definitely smells a bit "off" round here......what, Igor? You are trying out a new recipe? From your latest recipe book? Let's have a look then...."First, Pickle Your Aardvark"....I think I'll pass....)

Did have a big spend yesterday although it was planned. I have to admit though I did a last minute dash to the shops about 9.45 last night to pick up an ideal home mag (my guilty weakness :p). Going to curl up on sofa end enjoy later.

Anyone else a mag addict? The girls I work with all are, so we made a list of our favourite monthly mags and six of us buy two mags per month (so 12) in total. We have a rota and swop weekly, so we all get our fix without the big spends .:D

What a good idea! It's a shame I'm a temp worker at the mo, otherwise I'd be trying to set something like that up!
I used to buy at least 2 mags a week, but since my LBM, I've cut it down to just the cheapest weekly TV guide! :rotfl:'TV Choice' seems to be the cheapest I see, which is 45p. Much cheaper than the Radio Times that I used to get!

  • :rotfl:Hi everyone :o:o:o

It's me again, shamefully sneaking my head round the door, having spent all of my meagre savings on wedding and Christmas and not being able to get back on the wagon.
But it's not going to stop me from trying - that's for sure :T

I know that we're halfway through the month, but I'm more broken than a broke thing and I have no cash left for the moment. It's getting to be like the old days of spend, spend, spend and I need to stop. There are two challenges that I keep half heartedly joining that will help me do this. Today I am determined that I will wholeheartedly join in.

This is one of those challenges. I need to curb my spending, urgently - so as a late entrant to Autumnal October challenge, could I please pledge 10 nsds between now and the end of the month? I promise to come on here and update every day. Even if I can't read the rest of the threads I can do this and the weekly spend challenge to keep on the straight and narrow.

Thanks to anyone who's managed to read this far, and sorry for waffling.
Wish me luck - I need it :p

Christmas shopping  I have a list in my head and that's as far as I have got :o I am impressed that you are nearly finished yours. I know what I am like and would be tempted to keep on spending so I'm putting it off a wee while longer.

I had to defrost the car 3 days out of 5 last week before work

Must admit I have started mine, and have a list coming together for some of the others. Will prob still have a last min rush though. Need to talk to DB about doing presents, or whether to just all have a night out with us all chipping in like we did the other week in London.
Home Bargains turned out to be a let-down. I'm sure it used to be more "foody" in the past. Today though there was barely half an isle of food, and nothing worth having. Mostly snacky stuff or xmas chocolates. I was in there at 10am, tried to buy some cheap bleach, only to be told tills didn't open until 10:30! Stuff that! Iceland stuff was already melting in the car, so didn't want to hang around. ;)

Wilko's were doing Domestos or Parazone (sorry, can never remember which) for 50p - not sure if the offer is still on but if you're near one it could be worth popping in.

Well food shopping for me today, did get a £60 shop  down to £30 with nifty use of coupons :D Included a reduced cooked bacon joint from £4 to £1.50 and a ready cooked chicken from £4-odd to £2.20. I did have to tustle with my concience about that one as normally I will only buy free range (and did have an uncooked free range one in my trolly) but decided a) I didn't really have time to roast a chuck myself, b) since chuck was already cooked and reduced on this occasion I'd buy it, with the mind that I'll get a local one to roast myself next time the chuck man is at the local market.

Other exciting purchases being lightbulbs and toilet seat hinges (which didn't fit - stupid Ikea toilet seat ) so now need to buy complete toilet seat and wondering whether I can get away with returning the others to Wilko even though the packet is open? (seemed to have two fittings for the same side IYKWIM?) At least I can tie my trek back to the big orange DIY shop in with a mystery shop tomorrow (with prem payment :D)

sorry for the ramble, think today is going to be counted as a NSD (spends can come out of grocery / house budget) but need to check sums first.
