:rotfl: I'm quite adept at white sauces Looby but one can always force it through a sieve if needs be!

It transpires she's making a vegetarian lasagne.

The last time she made one of those was for her boyfriend at the time on Valentines day and they finally got to eat gone midnight!:rotfl:

She's having it now though so at least she's got a little quicker!

She's not really enjoying cooking on an electric hob though!

Well, perhaps if you stopped slinging the mud, people might be more happy to have a conversation with you?;)

As for how people feed a family on a small amount of money, why not visit the Old Style forum and tell them how they can't actually do what they do. It would have the additional advantage that you wouldn't encounter me there as I rarely frequent it.

Errrr I didn't sling any mud - I just disagreed with your dear charming self - how very dare I?

..By the way, I've never been banned in 6 years Dunroamin - unlike your other username Oldernotwiser - so I can't be doing that badly :)

As for Old Style I've been there, seen the threads on mooncups and promptly left.....

.... #303 posts and we're all still here....I can't be offending anyone that badly smiley_wink.gif

If you are going to scrape the barrel to discredit other posters at least get your facts straight. Do you see the tell tale acronym PPR?

MSE forum team told you there was a temporary ban did they? Interesting, I took them to be a tad more professional. ;)

Perhaps the reason you have not been banned in six years is you have only made 938 posts ... plus those deleted for mud slinging and barrel scraping because you are poor at adult debate, verifying facts and sensible comparisons.

TBF Fire Fox has a point when saying "You have only made 938 odd posts".

I've almost had 18,000 posts, never been PPR'd, never even had a warning, and I have been quite rude sometimes!

Have fun Christmas shopping! Bit early if you ask me!

I've never been banned with either username although I have had two yellow cards in close succession.

I've been unfailingly polite to you throughout this thread, as opposed to the comments you've made to (and about) me.

I hope you enjoy your (rather early) Christmas shopping.:D

God I really feel sorry for the OP of this thread I bet they weren't expecting all this 'politics' when they posted their reasonable enquiry!

Anyway I just came back to tell you I am doing a local/sustainable cookery course (some theory, some cooking) at the moment and today we made a delicious vegetable and bean soup - with veg bought from the local Turkish shop.

It was costed at @ 30p per person.

Of course that was bulk cooking which is obviously cheaper and most people wouldn't want to eat soup every day but it does show just how cheap nutritious tasty food can be.

Have all the nasty people gone away now? I was interested in this thread because my daughter will be going off to University next year and I was wanting to get an idea of how much students will spend on food per week. I am (sad I know) putting together a list of ideas for her to cook/eat which will hopefully be cheap/healthy and filling but I am now worried that it won't be healthy enough!
