Just quickly scanned this thread and from what I understand is that all the sellers/buyers are the same person running a scam to get money off the underbidders. There are no products for sale and once money is collected from all the auctions they will disappear into the night with it and no one can do a thing as the "sales" will have been made outside ebay!

Hope I got that right anyway ;)

    Spot on. ;)

As for the betting... I'm going against the bookies (a bad move possibly)... raxwulf was out recently, and whilst has experience on this ground...

    http://cgi6.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBidItems&userid=raxwulf&completed=1&all=1&rows=25&sort=3

I'm going to go with a spread of winners for feedback purposes.

    So it's.... tom_curnew @ 7/2 for me. ;)

Weyyy Heyyyy I reckon my brain must be working today after all :rotfl:

It's a pretty impressive scam and not one I've come across before so well done for spotting it :T

I've usually got a sharp eye for spotting anomalies but I don't think even I'd have uncovered that one!

ahaaaa, so the underbidders need to pay for the item outside ebay... wich not many people would do.

Yup! ... there seems to be no end of idiots out there which is what makes the criminals' activities even more lucrative

Having taken a closer look at this scam I noted, as you commented on earlier, that several of these accounts appear to be formerly legitimate ebayers who have either fallen victim to hackers, or more likely (and something I strongly suspect) have at some point received one of the spoof emails doing the rounds and inadvertantly given their account details to the rogue website which is now being used for the purpose of the scam.

I know I might get flamed for my next comment :D ... particularly as some of these internet scams have become very convincing of late in order to catch the most astute person ... but I think people should have to pass some sort of test and gain a licence before being allowed on the internet ;)outtahere.gif

Ooooops looks like I was in rather a grumpy mood yesterday, sorry :o

    Well that one was 200/1 :p !!!

I'd seen the ID before as it ties in with all other sellers, however their failure to win much, the private feedback and the UK registration threw me. :)
