I am on the lookout for a laptop, so have been looking quite keenly for a wee while.
Tonight another seller with 0 rating and and new seller status sells an IBM...the buyer sounds familiar.... so I look up one still in my watched list from Sunday ...yes she bought from a similar seller then.
So I look into her profile and she has bought 15 over the last dew days, . I look at each of the sellers until I find one with feedback (I think 4 or 5back), there my seller is given along with another familiar name...so I check him out and guess what ...he too is buying laptops .....BUT there are the same names are popping up again in that list!
Is it a game? Is it a con?

OK...
You have one seller/buyer.
All sellers are the same person.
All the sellers host their images on the same website.
Shill bidder wins each auction.
Offers to the second, third, fourth highest bidder are made outwith EBay.
Underbidders part with cash.
Scam complete.

I'ts fair to say I've had some practice.
This particular one runs pretty deep, involving dozens and dozens of newbie accounts and what look to be, previously dormant, possibly hijacked accounts.
Take a look at these two ........ Note the normal activity before the recent change in bidding activity.

Morning Tojo
The last one you listed there, was the second one I looked at ....... and then I thought WEIRD as some of the sellers were the same as the new selllers on the winner of the one I posted yesterday. I have never seen this before...hence my OP. I couldnt understand why winning and not just hiking the price up....but then, that is not what they are about, is it!
I see two laptops have been listed scince I looked yesterday .....and guess what ....the seller is mentioned, on the list, of the one above. Does that make sense???
OH...I am such an innocent!!!
Can anything be done?

From a field of millions, the bookies have somehow narrowed it down to four likely winners, all US bred, US trained and US stabled, but all are yet to even enter the running!!!
raxwulf : 1/4
teresa4671 : 3/1
tom_curnew : 7/2
rehaired sandy : 6/1
BAR 200/1
A racing insider was quoted as saying..."Put your house on raxwulf"... But at such short odds, from a field of millions, is that wise?
