    Good one.
Not only does what you just posted make little sense, but it is also completely untrue.

My business bank account is still showing on online banking... how long does it usually take to close an account?

I posted a letter through the letterbox of my RBS requesting closure of the account 8 days ago.
  • In Narnia land about 6 oranges and two Christmases.
  • I've just come back to this and seen your post.
I got my account closed early in November. It took longer than expected but it's sorted now.

Reading back, it's funny that people actually think that someone would be mad enough to make something up like this. I'm 15, almost 16 - and I run my own small business on the Internet, and that is why I was given the RBS business account. However it was wrong of them to give me the business account as I am not and have never had a large income. I'm definitely under the tax limit. Anyway enough of that, I'm just frustrated and in a way offended that people think I'm a lier.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas anyway! I'd like to stick around as I have recently realised that the MSE forum is brilliant for spotting some good shopping deals ;)

    Have a Happy New Year!
  • Did they ask your date of birth?
If so and you answered truthfully they would never have opened the account for you.
If I am wrong you can scan a copy of the closing statement here.

Whether the OP is lying or not as they are immature it's best to leave them alone and not get into an argument.

I tend to disagree as the OP has not once called anyone names on a public forum unlike the poster to whom you were replying.

Personally, I think the OP has conducted themselves with far more maturity and dignity than many posters would have done after being subjected to the threads later acceleration into pack sarcasm and suspicion.

Its hardly "nosey" to pass comment on something placed on an open forum.

Amazing how annacoates, who only joined this month and has some 40-odd posts, has such an "insight" into what value several long-standing members add to the forum, and which boards they frequent.
  • Just write a letter to the branch with the account details on and sign it saying you want to close the account.
