  • They would save more money by fixing street lights that are faulty and stay on during the day - oh and not having traffic lights on roundabouts (!!!!!!) , every 5 yards etc. I would be interested to know how much electricity traffic lights use, compared to street lights.

    Agreed, it is pitch black in the countryside at night.

    I would be interested to know how much electricity traffic lights use, compared to street lights.

    Very little, I expect. After all, they are only signals, they don't illuminate the area around them to any extent (they are far less bright).

    oh nothing, maybe it was just your ever so slightly condesending & scarcastic comment in the biggest type you could find about this being the in your home forum, the OP did say he wasn't sure if this was the right place to post & as he has had two pages of comments so far i guess it could be ok in here.

    Why on earth would you not have a torch to light your way. We even had torches to light our way through unlit streets in the blackout conditions of World War ll, amazing bits of kit.
    I can afford anything that I want.
    Just so long as I don't want much.
