some of this isn't down to cost savings (although it does of course come into it) it is down to light polution & people complaining of being kept awake, there is a dual caraigeway in salisbury that switches the street lights off at midnite & back on at 6 due to flats being nearbyI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -

indeed and one of the reasons I moved back to the countryside to get away from street lights!
It seems remarkable that in the absense of lighting a phone with a pathetic light is used to see the route when a cheap torch would do the job. I guess common sense isn't as common as perhaps first thought :rotfl:
of course I'm just kidding and poking fun.... so no offence intended!

The majority of properties have no streetlights.
I like having no streetlights. You can see the stars.0 -

Buy a big torch.....
Yes. Or even a small but bright torch. A nice AA battery torch from Fenix, Sunwayman, etc will suffice. You want ~150 lumens in my opinion. Buy rechargeable batteries, Sony Eneloop are as good as any if not better. 7DayShop are a cheap source (I have no connection with them except as a customer).Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0 -

Surely, to have common sense - you have to be "common" - ie: a pleb :rotfl::rotfl:0
