The answer to a lot of these comments is, open your mouth and do a sharp intake of breath, as if you are going to say something, then pause, smile like you have just won the lottery, don't say a word then eat your pop tart/whatever, it will drive them nuts they will be "what?",what?!" it will drive 'em nuts!! They will soon stop with the comments :)

I am so going to do this:D, if I can master this my fishwife days may be over:rotfl:

Do you think you deserve a treat every day?
I think she does. Sounds like she's doing really well.
[Plus she posts sense on these boards, which is more than many do - so I think that deserves a treat, too!]
  • I had a colleague who used to say 'the present back from my hols is to not bring you sweeties/chocolate'.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

Next time you get an unwanted unsolicited comment just yawn very loudly, then drawl "how utterly fascinating". Works every time.
Public appearances now involve clothing. Sorry, it's part of my bail conditions.

crikey size 14 and saying bigger gal........I wish I am somewhat larger and of a similar height and should anyone dare to comment on my diet which I hasten to add is a healthy one though my shifts mean I eat lunch at 2.30am in the morning and I do drink far too many energy drinks - they will get a sarcastic reply. Had nigh on 40 years of comments of my mother who spent most of a her life on a diet enforcing it on me when a girl. I am short and stout just like my dad and his parents before that and so on back through all the photos I have seen of his family whom I seem to have gotten most of my genes from.

I have yo yo dieted myself into ill health in the past and have reached a stage in life where I accept who I am physically and if others do not like I am sure they would be less offended if they simply walked away from me ,
I am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.

Just say "Look, I can lose weight anytime. You are stuck with that face forever."

    That should shut them up.

OP, don't worry about others comments, some people always will comment and say things that sound out of order, some assume they know more then they do about you because either you remind them of someone they know and so they offload onto you- sort of a theraputic thing!
Others have the same issue themselves.

And some others are (like a past Doctor I've had- he's since been struck off for other reasons) are just stupid.
My Doctor said to me (then in treatment for anorexia nervosa and very underweight, as in VERY underweight). He said to me "oh you don't need treatment, all you need to do is to eat a Mars bar" and then went on to describe the Mars bar and where to get one...

Don't allow others to dictate how you feel, your more then others opinions.
