,,,Youngest at uni has freshers flu and is desperate for a printer and printer paper as well as clothes airer etc. Need to work out when we can drive to her on a day with things she needs when she is available and also fitting around hospital stuff...

If you will be buying those, can you do a Tesco Direct or Amazon order to her new address?

Redruby - could I please have your cheesy bean pie recipe? My inlaws are coming next month and they are almost veggie (unlike us) and I find it really hard to cook something that everyone will eat.

Opps I hope I didn't make it sound more exotic than it is :D Its really simple, tin of beans in a casserole type dish, topped with mash then grated cheese and slices of tomato on the top.

This time the 'mash' was 1/2 potatoes and 1/2 mashed squash, and was really nice, its an easy meal to make, and warming when it cold x

Nmlc, hugs for your sis xx

    BB Happy Anniversary xx

nmlc sorry to hear your sis's ops been cancelled how infuriating for her, especially when they have had to drive there at the crack of dawn and probably got psyched up for it as well I do hope it goes ahead in Oct
Hilstep my DD bought me a 'grabber' and they are brilliant. I use it for closing my curtains and picking bits up off the floor and all sorts of things
my friend came to visit me today and we had a lovely lunch and a good long natter and I don't know where the time went to but we got no 'de-cluttering 'done as we had so much chat to catch up on.I had two portions of beautiful beef casserole left over so they have gone into the freezer ,also lots of small salad spud and some veg which will get used up tomorrow as I'm too stuffed to eat anymore tonight .A lovely day altogether .She brought lots of bits down and we went to the Blythwood Centre in the Medway where it is shipped out to eastern Europe to help childrenout there .mostly knitted baby clothes and some knitted blankets. We picked up a few shoeboxes each which we will fill with sweets and small toys for the children at Christmas .A 42ft container has just gone out to Albania and Romania with stuff for the charities out there.I have seven healthy well-fed grandchildren and hate to think of children going without, especially at Christmas. Both June (my friend) and I knit, and she makes quilts for the charity.I know times are hard for a lot of people, but nowhere near as hard for folk in eastern Europe. The children's orphanages suffered dreadfully under the regimes, and even now although its a bit better we have nowhere near the lack of stuff that they do.Even basic elastoplasts are beyond the reach of most and medicine is in very short supply for children. My grandsons have promised to help fill some boxes for the children and even a couple of pencils and a rubber and a few notebooks are prized by kids who have virtually nothing.I am making some soft toys to go into the boxes as well.
right time I got off my bandbox and sorted out the ironing
have a good evening everyone what ever you are doing and keep warm and dry if possible
    Cheers JackieO xx

  • Thank you all for the anniversary wishes animated-smileys-angels-004.gif x

nmlc sorry about you sisters op, it really is frustrating especially when it is a fair way from home ((((Hugs))))

DD came home with a howge box of choccies and a heart that she had iced for us, bless her :A I know that money is tight for her because she only has a four hour a week contract.

I folded tonight and thought s.o.d. it and sent DH to the Chinese as soon as he walked in the door, funnily enough he had the same thought in his head, so there was no fight :D. At least we can have a glass of wine with it (He will not have anything alcoholic when he drives, he just says that it is a stupid thing to do).
Well I am off to eat so BFN x
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

  • Happy Anniversary Butterfly Brain, hope you enjoyed your take away and have a good day on Saturday.

nmlc - how awful for your sister, hope the next date is the one that matters.

Hope you are all safe and well with the floods, we have been very lucky here and even got washing dried outside today. Cleaned the windows upstairs today and they look a lot better, sorted washing and put it away, didn't iron as there isn't enough to warrant putting the iron on (well, that's my excuse).

Had a Macmillan coffee afternoon at work today, made about £300 with donations and a raffle so all good there.

Turkey steak and veg for tea, had hm lentil soup for lunch along with a couple of nice cakes!

    Take care. XX

PS Where are you Lamewolf, or have I just missed you?
  • Evening all, well done on the Macmillan fundraising camelot we're having one at school on Friday. I have a friend undergoing treatment for breast cancer and my best friend has just had a lump identified , just waiting for the biopsy results so I'm really supporting the cause. Lamewolf has posted on the flylady thread so she is OK, she's just had Dylan to stay. :)
