Play.Com/WHSmith Xbox360/PS3

IGN reckon there are going to be a couple of good deals on play from tomorrow.

The core console for £150 sounds especially good...

It'll be to shift some stock before the 360 Elite hits...

Still a core + 120gb drive (if available as an upgrage) could be decent, pity it'll lack HDMI.

  • the elite is nothin special the only thing really worth getting one for is the huge hard drive thats it so what if its BLACK ooooo and nothing else is a bonus, so i would say if anyone wants a 360 get these cheaper sets and wait for a decent hardrive to come and buy it extra if needs be.

Agree with you bluetillidie. The HDMI output as well as the larger hard drive may make the Elite worth the extra few quid that it'll cost unless like me you've already got the original white 360, but the larger hard drive will only be useful if you want to store lots of TV programmes etc. imho. I never got close to filling the 4gb HD on my original xbox, and it's not difficult to stream from your PC if you want to take advantage of the additional media capabilities of the 360.

ChoicesUK have the Premium Xbox with PGR3, Gears of War and extra controller for £299. Should be able to find a discount code for 10% off too if you look ;-)

Plus, if it's your own media you want to play off it, even if you don't have a media centre PC, you can buy an external HD - typically around ninety quid for a 300 gig one - and put the DVDs on there in WMV format and play them that way.

i'd have been happier if the elite had a smaller HDD, but incorporated a HD-DVD player instead... Microsoft have missed a golden opportunity to capture those people who are still indecisive about buying a PS3
    £4988 Lloyds TSB Mastercard
    £400 O/D Lloyds TSB
    £2650 Lloyds TSB Loan
    £5070 Black Horse Finance

Skint, but I have a plan.... an MSE Plan!!!

i 100% agree with bluetilidie! but then again i am a playstation fan, not so big on the xbox's!
i also agree with 5limjim as microsoft could have made so much more money if they would have put that HD DVD player in there as these consoles are priced well under the PS3!
