    You should be able to select London Drummonds during the online account opening. The sortcode is 160038. The only difference is that the cheque books are Drummonds branded.

    Childs have their own branded debit card and cheque book too.

    If RBS is to privatise soon, maybe they will result back to a private bank.

    I know this is a very old thread, but they've recently changed their card design, it's no longer gold, it's blue :)

    gold seemed appropriate, with their roots as a goldsmiths:)
    is there a separate Child&Co website?...can't see one

    Yeah I liked the gold but thought it was a little OTT, the blue is much nicer on the eye.

    No website for Childs :(

    and can transactions be carried out over the counter at a NatWest branch? or an RBS branch?

    Just go to RBS website and choose 1 Fleet Street as your branch to open the account.

    I believe so, i very rarely visit branches, however on the check book it does state something about RBS & Natwest for paying in. I'll have a look later on when I get home.

    You'll to asked during your application which branch you'd like your account to be held at, I think you are asked towards the end :)
