£437.07 T-Mobile bill

T Mobile deducted £437.07 from my account in August. I have used my phone abroad before and never had a bill like this. I have spoken to three different people at T mobile who have given me no help. Is there any way I can complain with a view to getting back some of this money?:(

What does the statement say? Can you attribute the charges to the calls?

Who used the phone, where did you go, what phone is it? How long were you away and what did you use whilst away? We need to know this to help you further.

Plus we need a breakdown of the charges on the bill. ie data charges, call charges, text charges.

You are lucky it's less than £500. There are many other stories of much much higher fees.
  • I dont have a statement of the charges just the total that was taken by Direct Debit. I spoke to one operator who said that £189 of the charges was to my own number, she said it would be to voicemail, however I have never activated or used voicemail. The difficulty is also the time it takes to get through to speak to anyone as I have cancelled my direct debit to them and bought a pay as you go phone as I never want to get stung like that again. Now to speak to them I am having to ring their 0845 line.
  • Right... It isn't voicemail... Thats for sure... It would have to be huge amounts of voicemail all day every day and that would make for a rubbish holiday. You still haven't given any more info though. What phone are you using... When abroad what did you use on your phone? The phone and country you went to is important.
  • If you still want help just browse this forum for high roaming charge posts. Until you give us information you are not likely to get any help. Good luck.

They cannot 'just' take anything by a DD without billing you first.

Had you completed your minimum term under the contract. If not they will add on non dd admin charges and potentially early termination fees if you have not forfilled the minimum term as well having a case to put defaults on your credit record.
  • 500 quid bill is nothing unusual if you are not careful with your data usage while abroad. I paid over £400 after my 3 weeks in South Korea last May (so not bad really), even though I was trying to use wifi whenever possible. I think you get charged £5 per 1Mb outside the EU.

    Yet another billing horror story

I think Mse should have a sticky where people can pool their billing nightmare s

Im sure if this was brought up in houses of Parliament they would legislate
When will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?

    Why would they?

People should take responsibility for their own actions when using their phone abroad and read up on the potential charges.
