Bite the bullet. He's clueless, he's always been clueless and he always will be clueless.

    Ok, you win. :D

I'm feeling slightly calmer now I've been trumped. :D

What the heck is it with blokes?

I'm just waiting on mine 'casually' asking daughter what shop she happened to see this item in. :rotfl:

    May I join in? :D

We save money every month and birthday/ Xmas into the children's bank accounts. Some time ago OH decided to tell them that they have "about £1000" in their accounts  . Cue lots of talk of "when I get my thousand pounds", "when I get my bank account money". (The children are 5 and 8, and therefore have some considerable waiting time before they get ANY of it ;)) I have honestly no idea what the man was thinking, but I so wish he could unsay it as they've mentally spent it already. Mad, mad, mad
They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.

Shoot me! I do this as well, I hint about what she is getting, this is because one year I got it so wrong that what DD got was a real disappointing because it was so different from what she really wanted. I now drop hints to "prepare" my DD, so she gets used to the idea, as long as you don't confirm outright it just increases the anticipation.

    It's definitely a man thing.
I have learnt not to confide in OH if one of our offspring does some minor annoying thing - he manages to turn it into WW3 whilst "having a quiet word" and I end up raging with him whilst trying to placate the offspring....:rotfl:

    Me too....;)

That's just like my ex. We had a share scheme in his work which was always going to pay Uni fees. As it is we've now split up so our daughters will get loans and grants. But he has told them from a very young age that they've got 'plenty' of money for when they're older, which the oldest keeps going on about as 'her; money. Used to drive me mad...
  • Although not child related - I'm teaching the OH to make wine. I've told him what to do, how to do it and how much sugar to buy for 4 gallons, so why has he put ALL the sugar in his 2 gallons, done the whole thing !!!! about face and I am having to stop myself from twatting him one. The floor is soaking, elderberries are still rolling about from him trying to get them strained through yesterday and he is now ladling gallons of wine into demigods rather than use the hose which would do it in 2 mins.

    AARRGGHH.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

Daughter's birthday is coming up. We know what we're getting her, it's something she's wanted for a while but hasn't mentioned in ages as she knows money is tight.

OH decides to 'casually chat' to her about this item.

    1) OH can't do subtle. He's the type of person whose whispers could be heard in the next town.
    2) He never 'casually' chats to her about this kind of thing, if anything he doesn't usually listen to her when she talks about stuff she's seen or she likes.
    3) He does this routine EVERY single time there's a birthday or Xmas approaches.

I've told him before to shut his face (nicely of course) but he keeps doing it.

Upshot is daughter now knows what she's getting and OH is really trying to make me believe she still hasn't got a clue when the reality is, it's him that hasn't got a clue.

He spoils things every time just because he doesn't see how his 'casual chats' are obvious. I know he doesn't mean to spoil things but he does.

I'm trying to not be annoyed but I am...so I'm telling you lot. :rotfl:

How long have you had him?

Tis time YOU learned the art of misinformation :rotfl: ;)
    I'm not that way reclined

He wanted to make his own bless him. He's looking very studious as he spoons raisins into each demigod. I've never known him so quiet!
