Have you got a shop called QD? I bought 5 packets of seeds for £1 - I got sunflowers, radish, cucumber, onion and beetroot.

    old buckets - great idea!

there are two types of toms, tumblers and cordon. The easiest for a complete beginner is the tumbler as they need no attention other than water/feed. If you use a tumbler type, you do not need a stick/cane!

PS New potatatoes are traditionally planted on good friday, so you are not late at all!

If you mean pots, then either try making them yourself from newspaper (I have made literally hundreds of these things)

Wow angie that is soooooooooooooo cool... :D I've just spent a happy half an hour making my first newspaper pot.... hopefully the first of many! I might even try teaching my class of 7-8 year olds how to make them too! Thanks a lot for the link:beer:

Aldi has packets of seeds cheap and little "green house" starter kits for some veggies to grow on the windowsill.

I get a piece of cotton wool and stick it in an empty yog pot add water and cress seeds and stick on the windowsill.
