Not really.
If you have exhausted the funds (i.e. available credit) on the CC you will be in no better position than if you have exhausted the funds available via a debit card.
If you've maxed out your credit cards and have no money in the bank then should you really be thinking of buying a take-away?! :rotfl:“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

That was not the point. Your solution was erroneous, whatever the state of the person in questions finances. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
Youre assuming that when they hit the refund button that the funds aren't ring fenced out of their account, when they may well but, but not cleared INTO the customer's account. Perhaps both parties sit, visibly out of pocket with the money in some form of limbo.
I've used JE a lot, and wondered if perhaps the restaurant simply has a button to say they've seen the order, but not to say if they reject or accept.
Unless the restaurant had to email or call just-eat to tell them they'd rejected the order, but told the customer first?
Not going to lose sleep over knowing or not, but it would be interesting to know nonetheless...
Shame no members in this thread own takeaways under the JE system (or are not telling!)"Part P" is not, and has never been, an accredited electrical qualification. It is a Building Regulation. No one can be "Part P qualified."

According to my local takeaway that uses JE, they get an alert that an order has come in and have a choice of two buttons - to accept or reject the order. They're supposed to do this within 90 seconds, but it sometimes takes longer if they're really busy. If they reject then they have to put in a reason and both they and the customer will/should get a follow-up call from JE.
Not sure how the finances work, sorry, as my partner's chat with the takeaway didn't get that involved! (We were calling to see if our order had gone through as the laptop battery died mid-transaction. Aside from that, never had any issues with JE.)0 -
Just to add that the follow-up from JE to restaurant is usually via email, and that the restaurant has the option to take themselves temporarily offline from JE if they are really busy.0

I have had a look at Just Eat and searched for my postcode, but all the takeaways that come up are too far away and I've never heard of any of them!
We order from a handful of takeaways that all deliver and I know there is one of them that will take a card payment over the phone, but usually we pay cash on delivery.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.670 -

Had the same issue saturday night. It was giving me take aways based in Dartford and Welling which is not good when I was just outside Canterbury and it was an extra £15 - £20 on me order to get it delivered from there.

I somehow doubt they would have delivered it from Dartford to Canterbury even for £20. That would be a long trip down the M2 and if they had to go through Canterbury I should think it would take well over 2 hours return. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0
