Just Eat warning

The 5-7 day delay is exactly the same as if you ordered online groceries,it's the banking system I'm afraid,Although I often wonder if the delay works in the receiving banks favor.
Anyhoo,I have been tempted to use the Just Eat myself but whenever I put my postcode in,it brings up a place called Boley Hill, which Iv'e never heard of,and shows on the delivery address map as me living 4 miles out of the town that I do live in....0 -
What website are you advertising? I can't seem to find it!
If you google the place you want to order from 9/10 they'll have their own website you can order from.
There's also a couple of just eat clones now too.
I noticed the price hike on there last month so switched to ordering direct. It always use to be collections were 10% off compared to deliveries on takeaway menus.
On just eat it seams o be 50p £1 an item more expensive now.0 -

You google just eat I in your postcode and it comes up with local takeaways that deliver to your house and you can order online. My area only has a few my mama has loadsNeeding to lose weight start date 26 December 2011 current loss 60 pound Down. Lots more to go to get into my size 6 jeans0 -
In my opinion it should be like this -
Customer places order > Just Eat contacts restaurant to see if they accept or reject order > Restaurant accepts or rejects order > If accepted Just Eat take payment/if rejected Just Eat doesn't take payment and tells customer order rejected > Just Eat confirms with restaurant that payment has been taken and to proceed with order > Just Eat tells customer the order has been accepted
I'm guessing that the customer more often changes their mind when prompted to pay than the restaurant refuses the order. So it makes sense (most of the time) to do it the way they do.0 -

I would dispute 9/10 takeaways on just eat have their own sites with online ordering0 -
Yes I guess the 5-7 working days for a refund is a general annoyance at the whole banking system, I don't see how you can be charged instantly but then it take an age to be refunded. I'm sure there's some reasonable explanation I'm missing.
When you place an order on Just Eat you confirm it, then you get a "Waiting" box, it then takes about a minute or so to tell you if your order has been accepted or rejected by the restaurant.
Youre assuming that when they hit the refund button that the funds aren't ring fenced out of their account, when they may well but, but not cleared INTO the customer's account. Perhaps both parties sit, visibly out of pocket with the money in some form of limbo.
I've used JE a lot, and wondered if perhaps the restaurant simply has a button to say they've seen the order, but not to say if they reject or accept....that it must have gone through the JE system for them to be aware of the rejection.
Unless the restaurant had to email or call just-eat to tell them they'd rejected the order, but told the customer first?0 -

Dispute away for whatever reason you want to :rotfl:
Every takeaway I use too order from justeat now has it's own website.
Some even have discount clubs and rewards for frequent orders! I get 10% off my large chicken shish kebab and a similar amount off curries depending on where I order from.
Amazingly justeat showed them that a web presence generates orders from people like myself. You not think a savy takeaway owner might realise that?
The 4 best takeaways in my area have never appeared on just eat in fact 3 of them have never done home deliveries either :eek:0 -

You will probably find the "own" website that they use is in fact run by just eat or hungry house. They've started offering websites in addition to the just eat site. There is no actual difference between using that and just eatThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
