Hello there
"Great minds think alike ! "
I am off to Lanzerote at the end on the month. I bought the AA Spiral guide today in WH Smith. It's good and has lots of info including what public transport goes where. Well worth the £9.99.
There seems to be lots to see and do so I am really looking forward to it.
Best wishes for your happy holiday xxxxxxdxxx

It's me again :-)
Just wondering if anyone has 'been off the beaten track'. Well by that i mean been away from the South Coast tourist areas.
I'm thinking about visiting some interesting towns inland. Has anyone been to Teguise itself? If so, it there anything worth seeing there?
I'm also wondering about going to this big beach in the North (Famara), though as it doesn't seem as 'touristy up' there, will there be any chance of getting a room for a night? As i plan to visit the nearby island of La Graciosa (if it's woth it).
Once again, thanks in advance travellers.Instigated terrorism the road to dictatorship.0 -

Nothing in Teguise apart from the market. You could try the west cost and stay in a Finca but it wont be cheap but it is beautiful just how the island used to be. The north west is very nice around the valley of a thousand palms. Look for a town called Haria. The area around La Santa always used to be lovely but I think even thats getting developed now.
What you need is a time machine and see how it used to be...lol or visit La Palma for a taste of the real Canaries but brush up on your Spanish because not much english is spoken ...its wonderful ...not a burger bar to be had for milesIf you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel0 -
Almost every tourist who has ever been to Lanzarote!
Huge Sunday market there, selling lots of junk!
Hey, you're off to tenerife right?
Where is this stuff you spoke about in an earlier post;
"I would recommend visiting anything created by Cesar Manrique, especially Jameos del Agua in the north."
Cheers.Instigated terrorism the road to dictatorship.0
