I booked a flight to Lanzarote the other day, i'll go there this month.
So i'm just looking for any help or suggestions on must see places to go, places to stay, best beaches, bars, places to eat.
And other stuff like, are there may cash machines (Cirrus) there? What is the bus service like? For example, is it easy to get a bus from the airport to towns and resorts or would i have to get a taxi etc?
ANY help is greatly appreciated. Gracias. :-)

I stayed here a few years ago - http://www.lanzarote.com/reservas/costaluz/index-en.html
There's a good bar in Los Pocillos called Blythes Bar, which used to be run by a great scouser called Wally, a fanatical Liverpool supported.Karma is a wonderful thing.0 -

Don't know yet as i have only booked a flight.
Maybe costa tequise (sp??)???
Anyway, i'm generally not the type of person to stay by the pool or nearby every day of my trip, so i'll probably be looking to visit other parts of the island anyway.Instigated terrorism the road to dictatorship.0 -

hi infidel,
we love lanzarote, its our favourite holiday place. we always go to peurto de la carmen, its about 6 -8 euros for the taxi, from the airport.
we have stayed in the old town and in the new town. i prefer the old town, its got a lovely sheltered beach that great for scuba diving.
the restaurants in the old town are really spanish and have a great atmosphere.
in the old town we stayed in la florida, its only about £200 for the week for 3 of us, cheap but clean.
i have had my eye on the san antonio hotel on the front there for ages, the reviews are fantastic and it was going to cost £600 for a week, half board with everything you could possibly imagine to do there.
the vulcano, is worth a visit, you can eat in the restaurant there with food cooked over the vulcanos heat!!!
the best thing about peurto de la carmen old town for me was the huge zara shop there, the prices are really cheap and all of the clothes are excellent quality
hope this helps:rotfl:
love dorry 'If you judge people, you have no time to love them'

Oh thanks for that.
What is the name of this volcano?
Have you ever used public transport on Lanzarote? I was trying to find a bus timetable online without success so far. As for example if i stay in a resort i will want to go and visit other places during some of the days.
I may even get the chance to practice my Spanish, though probably not in the apartment. :-oInstigated terrorism the road to dictatorship.0 -
There are over 300 volcanoes in Lanzarote - which one were you thinking of?
I assume you meant Timanfaya National Park?
I would recommend visiting anything created by Cesar Manrique, especially Jameos del Agua in the north.
What's your budget for a hotel?
Try looking on https://www.hotelscomparison.com

Cheers.
I think one of the volcano thingies was called fire mountain or something. I was just wondering if it's possible to get up there without hiring a car. Either walking, bike, public transport (or a combination of them).Instigated terrorism the road to dictatorship.0 -
That's the one up in the Timanfaya National Park... perhaps you could get on one of those camel's at the bottom..:D There are plenty of bus trips around the Timanfaya National Park and it definately a place not to be missed..
Have a look HERE.. and HEREsometimes you're the pigeon, sometimes you're the statue!0 -
Thanks. But when you say bus trips, do you mean i have to actually get near the place and then take a bus from there, or are there trips that will leave from the main resorts and towns?Instigated terrorism the road to dictatorship.0
