Road Bike for no more than £1000?

I'm looking to switch from a MTB to a road bike for commuting to work mainly

I'm going to be getting it thru the CycleScheme

Can anyone suggest a great road bike

I don't want to spend more than £1000 and would like to have as much carbon as possible

Suggestions with reasons why please folk

Giant do a full carbon for £900 down from £1300.

I would not buy a carbon bike at that price point too many compromises in the components to get down to that price.

This is highly rated even if the shop selling it is not.

The Boardman range are all good. I know a lot of people criticise Halfords, but there are a couple of club cyclists working in ours, and they know what they are doing.

I'd agree, for that sort of money, something from the Boardman range is a no brainer.

A word of caution, don't forget to factor in the cost of a good D-lock and cable. And a £1000 bike is worth insuring (you need an approved lock for this anyway).

Already got them Just need the bike as got all the locks etc last year

I don't think you're going to get them on a full carbon bike.
