If anybody has bought one of these, i would keep the packaging for a couple of days. Both my parents and i bought one of these and they have both malfunctioned in the first day. Anyone else bought one and had problems? Taking it back today and didnt know whether to replace it with another or to get my money back. Thanks in advance :)

yes I bought one and it just let out an ear piercing screech which did not stop!! I would not be here to type this if there was that much CO in our kitchen. We borrowed our neighbours alarm to check and nothing happened so no CO in our house thankfully.

I did exchange it but haven't plugged the new one in yet to try it. My mum bought one too and the same thing happened to her so not sure my new one is going to work either but thought I would try!!

Anyone else had problems? Robert Dyas were very good though at changing it and will refund if necessary!!

I have just bought one of these from ebay and seem to be having the same problem. The thing just lets out a high pitched wail with no sign of stopping until you unplug it.

Not sure what to do now..:o

Went back to Dyas and bought another 2. One didnt work at all and the other had the same problem as last time. Got a refund eventually off the manager. The sales assistant told me i couldnt have a refund as i had opened the packaging and he would not be able to resell it.......DOH. Hard work but got the refund, lol.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Are these alarms supposed to sound at first plug in? for about 3 minutes? One of the ebay auctions says "(WHEN FIRST PLUGGED IN THE UNIT GOES INTO TEST MODE THE ALARM WILL SOUND FOR ABOUT 3 MINUTES AND DISPLAY NUMBERS WILL CHANGE THIS IS NORMAL OPERATION)" link is here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260110512173&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:middle:uk
