EXPIRED Chocolate Tasting Club Offer - £3.92

  • have tried these when they are on offer a couple of times, they are nice chocolates but very overpriced when not on offer (£19.95). it is easy to cancel after the first box and every now and then they send mailings offering a further box for £7.95, had one through a couple of days ago. even at the reduced price i would prefer to spend my money on a nice box of thorntons, their christmas classic selection is half price for £5 or 5 for £20.

I've only had Hotel Chocolat once but I would much rather spend £7.99 on one of their boxes than 2 boxes of the cheap Thorntons. The chocolate is much nicer, and you eat fewer of them before stopping.

I don't really buy chocs for myself much, but luckily these offers always fall around my birthday or christmas :) Although my xmas list has over 40 people on it I think that perhaps only 1 person on it would like to be given chocs, everyone else is diabetic, dieting, etc.

I was thinking about it in Thorntons the other day, but I really can't think who to give 5 boxes of chocs to. 1 to the teacher, 1 to my cousin ... that's about it. It's a good offer, but nowhere near the luxury of Hotel Chocolat.

dont get me wrong, i do like the Hotel Chocolat chocolates but not to the extent that i would pay nearly £20 a box, i've popped into the shop in birmingham city center but the prices are so shocking that i cant justify buying anything. i picked up a tub of rum soaked sultanas, £8.50 for 150g!

I got mine today and have just canceled the membership. It comes in a long oblong box that fits most letters boxes. So, no need to worry about not being in. :)
  • My chocolates have arrived along with the additional little box. :j:j:j They look very posh indeed and I can't see anything on either packaging which says special promotion/free gift etc. Will make lovely presents!:j:j:j Thank you OP!

    £8.50:eek:

I had the Hotel Chocolate caramel battons and they were the nicest chocolates I've ever had but I am not that desperate for chocolate to pay such high prices, a £1 slab of dairy milk will satisfy my tastebuds and bank balance!

ive not received my box but think they will come tomorrow hopefully

  • Oh dear...this 'bargain' may have backfired. I had my box today and I've fallen in love, I don't think I'm gonig to be able to cancel - not straightaway anyway. I might call them Christmas presents to myself and then cancel in the New Year
