EDF FIT application nightmare

Well done for your your persistence. We are about to contact them again as another month has passed with no news from EDF. Without this blog and others like it we would be in the dark.
We think it is a great idea to try to find out what is happening with OFGEM. We also plan to copy any contact that we attempt to make with OFGEM to the Energy Ombudsman. The more that have us as sores in their side, the better!
It's almost unbelievable that a Big Six company like this, with more than twice as many complaints as their nearest rival, could allow this to remain unresolved for so long. Maybe they are busy with some of their nearly half million complainants!!!!0 -
Had my email re FIT meter reading, so sent my contact at EDF a polite "how the Ofgem thing going" and got the response that they were in the process of contacting customers with a new statement of terms and an additional payment re the difference in the tariffs. Sounds to me like the end is in sight.
Its going to be tempting for everyone to pile in and email them with similar questions but the downside to that is that it may simply generate work that slows down the real work of getting this sorted. To be fair they have been remarkably efficient at processing FiT payments recently so maybe they've got the Green Team side of things sorted.Adventure before Dementia!0 -
Wow WestonDave, that sounds like progress to Me!
I have spent the past week sending emails to The Energy Ombudsman and to OFGEM. No reply from the EO, no surprise here, they have been totally useless in this legitimate claim by consumers against EDF. OFGEM passed the email to several different departments but utimately refused to comment and referred me back to EDF.
Unitil I receive absolute confirmation from EDF that the difference in FIT will be paid and backdated to my original application date, I will not be content.
Lets hope we all hear soon!
Regards to all reluctant EDF sponsors....0 -
Dear all,
I have received a confirmation by email from eDF that my case is to be reverted to the correct original date and rate.
They told me OFGEM were sorting the 'finer points' of how to correct the register etc. That was a month ago so I've chased eDF today to find out where they are with that. I'll let you know what they say.
The wheels they do move slow but at least they seem to be turning our way now.0 -
Hi edfnightmare,
Many Thanks for the encouraging information.
Please inform the outcome - I still dont trust EDF!

Hi All,
Just an update I recieved today from the Energy Ombudsman. (I contacted them again last week to complain about their lack of support in this matter, especially when even EDF now seem to have a 'change of heart'):"We have taken advice from the Ombudsman team, who has made the following comments:Until such a time, our stance remains the same as our previous response".
The Feed in tariff rules are set by Ofgem. It will be Ofgem’s decision whether to allow service providers to backdate payment. If Ofgem makes a policy decision to backdate applications we may decide to change our stance.
At least its keeping the EO informed in case we have to take the matter further...
Anyone had an update from EDF? even a revised Statement of Terms?

As of an hour ago, I've now had revised terms and a revised invoice backdating payments to the initial date of instalation. I need to sign and return the terms but in my case it appears to be sorted. Hopefully therefore it is just a matter of time for them to work through the other cases.Adventure before Dementia!0

Wow WestonDave, Thats fantastic!
So glad one of us has finally had a satisfactory outcome.
Just to be sure - was yours a case of the 'multi installation certificate' signature missing, or similar small dicrepancy on the EDF application form? (and therfore missing the August 1st 2012 FIT deadline...)
Many Thanks!0 -
Hi All, here is the latest encouraging blog update from the 'YouGen' Website (copied from a members message in the same position with EDF):
However, I am still waiting!
Edit 13 March 13: EDF says: After negotiations between Ofgem and ourselves, it has been agreed we will be permitted to back-date a limited number of cases such as yours.
Please see the attached amended Statement of FIT Terms document for your new tariff rate and dates accordingly. Please sign and date the Terms Sheet and return it to us at your earliest convenience. I trust that this outcome and explanation is satisfactory for you. However, if you require any further assistance, please feel free to contact our Green Hub- Feed in Tariffs team on *0800 404 9087 and we will be happy to help.0
