  • Good Morning,

Sunny with blue skies but cold here, I slept pretty well but still up by 8am even when I have a chance to lie in!

Having a chilled morning, should be doing ironing & supermarket shop but sofa too comfy. Got my old mate visiting later can't wait, have lunch out, shop, stroll and chat then off to comedy club tonight so in all a nice weekend planned. :)

    Good morning ladies

Ok so the hair was done on week 1. This week I have finally got to grips with my skin. Have gone back to OCM and have lashed out on some Clinique moisturiser. So far so good, skin has calmed down and is looking much better.

This week I even managed to buy a bit of knitwear and am hoping to continue next week and add a few more bits and pieces to my wardrobe.

The bad news I have just weighed and measured myself:eek::eek:

All I can say is "Oh dear" or perhaps something a little more colourful.

So today it begins in earnest. I'm going to try and lose a stone by our Solstice deadline. Starting right here right now.

I've also decided to up my Vitamins, in preparation for the winter.

It's beautifully sunny but that cold wind is cruel today - I've not christened the thermals yet though. Saving them for "real winter".

I notice DS2 has started wearing his already but then he does work outside so he's allowed. ;)

Glad you feel more energised today WW. At least you have a break this week to recharge your batteries.

LL - I'm still wanting to lose a bit more weight so I'll kick you up the bum if you reciprocate.;)

Just back from the hairdressers and 2 hours in the chair being preened and talked to about fluffy stuff is just what I needed. I now know all the celebrity gossip, had a good b*tch with my male hairdresser about loads of things and have emerged with a nice glossy mop - no grey or frizzy ends in sight:T
Popped into Superdrug and picked up a few fabbing bits and some every day toiletries - got a new facemask, hair mask, facial scrub and some very expensive super whitening toothpaste and a new toothbrush. Noticed my teeth don't look as white as they used to and I've always had nice teeth that show a lot when I talk and smile so short of getting them professionally whitened this appears to be the next best thing. Supposed to whiten by a shade in a week - we'll see.

My period started unexpectedly today too - now know why I felt so rubbish for the past 2 days - feel like a different person now - the hassle of hormones ladies:mad:

Managed two longish walks too - about 90 mins before taking the dog to the vet this morning (ear infection, nothing serious but £55 worse off) and another 30 mins this afternoon. I'm going to make myself do an exercise DVD later too.

Hope everyone is keeping warm. xx

I've had a bit of a chocoholicaly day today for some reason mega craving choccy. Oh well tomorrow's another day as I don't want to pile the weight back on with feeling ill for 3 weeks and no exercise either

Today has been quite spendy for me too - bought some christmas pressies and a couple of bargainous things for me which I couldn't resist in the sales at the same time- no clothes though! Pleased to be getting on top of the chrissy shopping though and not leaving things so last minute - not that I do usually.

I'm feeling a little better today thankfully however not back to normal and off to see the dr again on Monday to have a little chat about why I'm so prone to these rubbish viruses and colds.

All nice and warm here tonight and have had a rather nice tea of sausages hm wedges and beans which was nice and comforting and pretty cheap too!

TV watching for me this evening and yet another early night when wI struggle to get to sleep no doubt - all this rest is not doing my sleep pattern much good as I'm usually very active and burn off my energy during the day. I think its building up to explosion point after 2 whole weeks and more of this.

    Hugs to all :)

Started the morning with hot squash, lemon and honey. Now feel all sniffly, wt.... So popped some vitamin c tablets to ward off sniffles.

Reading Why french women don't get fat (after someone mentioned it on here). It's interesting. Got the cookbook to read too. If I start walking around wearing Chanel shades and red lipstick I have you all to blame!! :)

Have a fab day or... according to Google translate.......
    Avoir une merveilleuse journee

    Good Morning All

I read that book too. Found it very interesting. I'm sure the Chanel shades and red lippy will look great.

Well I was up with larks this morning - yes I did turn back the clocks but my body said it was time to get up. So I did.

I know I will be half dead by this afternoon, so I've got cracking early and then I can rest later. I've even done some exercise:D

It's all action stations because we have a house viewing on Tuesday. Cue mega clean up over the next couple of days...

Right off to have some breakfast and then an early visit to OH - he'll be watching the motor racing this afternoon so I can leave him to it.

    Right - time for breakfast.

    Have a great day.

    Bonjour mineallmine!
(That's about the extent of my French these days!)

Just back from taking the dog to the park - in the rain:(. Much prefer the cold weather we had yesterday to this. Then wrestled him to clean his poorly ear and sort out the antibiotic drops - what fun! He is defintely not impressed with having clean ears!

Made a bit of fabbing progress last night - used my new Superdrug face scrub and anti aging mask and can say that for the price they gave great results. Skin is glowing and lovely and soft. All for £3!

Have started using the new toothpaste too - teeth still felt very clean when I woke up this morning.

I have a day of pottering around planned - the house needs a good clean, bit of ironing, bed changing, dog walking and a bit of preparation for the revision sessions tomorrow.
Will also do an exercise DVD - don't want to go running in the rain.

Will also have a look at the rest of the month budget-wise - yesterday turned out to be a mega spend day with the vet, hair cut, shopping etc so need to see where I can make a few savings to compensate.

I have a few things planned this week to keep me active....
    • 2 mornings of revision at school (paid an extra £200 for this so worth doing)
    • an evening walk (told to bring a torch!) on Tuesday
    • a Halloween film night with the Spice lot (cheap and cheerful)
    • a ghost walk in Manchester on Friday evening
    • a local ramble on Saturday
All of these are already paid for and so all I need is a bit of petrol to get me there.
I may also have to go to Wales to help mum with the tidying of the garden at the rented house ready for the estate agent to view it - will see what the weather brings.

    Right, the hoover is calling.......

The fabbing continues with trying to wear all different bits from the wardrobe. This is a useful exercise as today I wore I top that I now know I hate, so it's off to the charity shop. I plan to pick out things I've not worn from a while to really know if I've got a wardrobe full of clothes that I love. It's amazing how many things can literally hang in there taking up space and more importantly not feeling quite right when we wear them.

  • Hi all,

Just been catching up on the news on the thread, as I've just come back from a weekend away. You all seem to be doing so well!

I lost another 4 pounds this week and I'm still finding it relatively easy to stop eating when I get full, etc. I'm noticing little changes - I have stopped thinking about food all the time, and I don't feel compelled to eat things just because they are there! We've had a multi-pack of my favourite crisps in the cupboard for a few weeks now that are untouched because I just don't fancy eating them. This sort of behaviour is previously unheard of for me - they would have gone in 3 seconds! :rotfl:

Need to pick up again on the OCM for my face (I've lapsed) and I'll look into getting coconut oil for my hair.

Clothes wise, I need to make more of an effort. For years I only bought myself really rubbish shoes from supermarkets that fell apart in about a month. Recently I've been spending more on shoes that will last, and learning to look after them properly. This will seem more expensive in the beginning but will save me money over time, and I believe I should have things that will last. Now I need to do the same for clothes and over time give my wardrobe a bit of an overhall. I think this will happen naturally, as I am losing weight.

LL - agree with you about furniture that can do double duty. If anyone is looking for blogs that deal with small spaces, I recommend Apartment Therapy for clever storage solutions, etc. I used to be a clutter magnet, but since traveling and living out of a backpack, I've become much more of a minimalist. I like my home to feel comfy and for people to feel relaxed in it, but I don't want un-necessary stuff everywhere. More stuff = more stuff to tidy up!

PP - you've done fantastically well - I hope everything is okay with the piece you submitted and that you managed to escape the night out! Sometimes a night in alone is essential!

I'm pretty hungover today so I'm going to sit under a blanket and watch rubbish tv :) Have a great evening all xxx
Not buying any more 1.)books 2.)toiletries, esp. LUSH! 3.)stationery, unless absolutely necessary!
  • Evening All,

I've had a busy weekend friend stayed, shopping yesterday then comedy club last night. Today went to open air museum and out for food. Then my little sis called in as was visiting her mates who live near me. In all a good weekend, got a few compliments on my hair, actually blow dried and straightened it.

Reminded me I like compliments, Last week a bloke winked at me as i walked past hair salon even now it makes me smile so it is worth making the effort!

Looking forward to a quiet evening of knitting, tea & crumpets and xfactor/downton.

    Eh xx
