it hurts like mad !! i had 3 sessions and havent built up the courage to go back

My friend who had it done likened it to when your cooking and the oil/fat spits on you-that kind of sensation/pain. Though i imagine it varies between people/pain thresholds. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Im less worried about the pain than I am about crying infront of everyone if it hurts too much lmao0

You'll definitely be fine if you've had 4 sections!! I've had one, after a failed labour, and if I ever think that the laser removal hurts I just keep remembering how bloomin sore contractions were and it feels like a walk in the park!! I don't think it'll hurt too much on your finger TBH. That'll only take a couple of minutes and there's no pain when it's over.0

I had two removed by laser almost 20 years ago, when it was a new treatment. I still remember how much it hurt, it was worse then the tattoo being put on but was bearable, like hot needles but they only zapped me for one minute per session so it was over before it started. I went to a clinic in Harley Street and went up by train and catching the tube after was horrible, the warm rush of air made it burn like mad. I had ten sessions and each session cost £100. So with fares it cost around £1200, for a £9 tattoo. I had a black swallow and a rose measuring about 2" x 4". The colours were black red green and yellow, I was warned that green was the hardest colour to remove. I have a small raised area about a cm long which was part of the green stem that scarred. It is still a very faint green and looks like a small fading bruise other then that you would never know there had ever been anything there. I wish you good luck and am sure things have moved on since then.0

Why not take a couple of painkillers ahead of time (as long as you can tolerate them of course)?0

my friend had a couple of sessions to remove ones on her wrist but she said it was like having hot fat sprayed on the area! she opted for a cover-up tattoo instead!0

I'm trying to get rid of a star on my hip, that got a bit stretched and horrid after 2 pregnancies. I'm using some cream thingy thats supposed to break down the ink, as I couldn't afford the laser removal or tolerate the pain!0
