Morning everyone,
Tiglath, Hilstep and Topsy Hugs to you
Sistercas Good luck on the university run.
Foreversaving OMG. Glad that your DH is ok.
Uolypool Happy birthday to DS3.
Monnagran Congratulations to you and Granny God on the birth of your granddaughter.
Hester Glad that work has calmed down a bit.
Halight Glad the twins are getting on well at school.
Have had a really busy week at work so haven't been able to post but I have been reading.
Our German visitor is still here, till Wednesday, but DD1 is making a really good job of looking after her.
OH and I mended our fridge in the week (saving quite a few pennies), so I need to refill it today!
Hopefully today will be quiet, I have a huge pile of marking to catch up on.
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -
Morning all
Sistercas - hope DD has a fab time at uni, I echo JackieO about trying to keep the tears in til you've gone! When I went to do Camp America my mum came to London with me and saw me off on the train to Heathrow and promptly started sobbing on the platform as my train pulled off, which made me feel very guilty! This is despite the fact that I was 26 and had lived away from home twice before that! :rotfl:
FS - hope OH is ok
Uolypool - happy 18th to DS!
Beautiful start to the day here. I have absolutely no plans today. I need a quiet weekend as I'm away with work this coming week which will be hectic. That said I do have lots I want to do today. I need to tidy and clean, going to visit my parents/nan/gran/aunt at some point (may as well do all the visits in one big trip
). Also want to make some celery soup.
OS wise - WM been on once already, and has 3 more loads to do today (clothes/towels/bedding/random). Dishes to wash. Laundry to put away. Hoover and clean house. Sort paperwork. Make soup.
Have a fab day all

Good morning all,
Nice and bright here, looking good for the day. According to the BBC though Autumn is about to throw a spanner in the works.
Got the chickens to clean out, and the garden to tidy (which i am sure the chickens think they are helping with)
[off topic] just watching the TV ad for Skymovies 007. Wouldn't it be great if they managed to make some kind of cobbled together film where all the bonds met up to take on a mega villian.
[back on topic]
off to the local market tomorrow for the meat auction van and veggies. Hopefully there will be a break in the weather.
Take care all
Sy..Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today!
Cos if you do it today and like it...You can do it again tomorrow..

Morning All
Forever saving - Hope DH is ok, the car will fix (or not) but he's lucky to have no injuries.
Sistercas - A difficult day for you but the start of a new chapter of DDs life.
Uolypool - Happy 18th Birthday to DS.
Tiglath - Put the housework on hold till you get yourself sorted, hugs to you.
Up with the larks today if I could see them - what started as a bit of mist has now turned into full blown fog! Still, 2nd load in the machine in the hope that it will brighten up. Cleaned all the bathrooms and put away some 'stuff' that was hanging about. Also re-packed DS2s big bag of clothes, etc. We found it in the garage full of dirty washing. (Wouldn't have found it if I hadn't been searching for an alarm clock that was going off!).
Got lots of little bits to do today including collecting a parcel. Enjoy your weekends. Take care. XX0 -
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Sunny, bright but nippy here this morning. DH, DS1 and DS2 all now up - I was enjoying the peace!
Dinner last night was pie, chips and beans/veg for the menfolk, fish, jacket potato and veg for me. Did some baking yesterday afternoon, made some twinks, choc brownies and some cup cakes, need to ice the cup cakes today. Managed to be a bit productive yesterday, did get going with the washing and drying in the TD (started raining as I came out of the SM and rained on and off for the rest of the day and it was cold too). Will put some washing on the line in a bit. DH has to visit some people this morning to do with caravanning and then will visit the outlaws - he wants me to go with him so we can do the visiting thing and get it over and done with, but if I don't get the ironing etc done today then I'll need to be washing and drying uniforms tomorrow and will spend all day tomorrow working - I do like to have an easier day on a Sunday, if at all possible, I do cook a full roast most weekends we're at home and have a pork joint for tomorrow, will do all the trimmings to accompany. Not sure what we will be having for dinner tonight - depends on how we get on with the jobs we need to do.
Had a treat yesterday and bought a new mobile phone, the one I'd got I've not been impressed with it at all, I've only had it since just before last Christmas and it wasn't an all singing all dancing phone but some of its basic functions were a bit dire, probably could have took it back as possibly faulty but have fancied a much more up to date one for ages and only had that because I couldn't get what I really wanted at the time. I'm quite pleased with the deal I've got, I did pay a bit towards the handset but got a got monthly deal - for the sort of use that's good for me, unlimited txts, free mins and some free internet use - so am a happy girl - but I will be going back to the shop for an appointment with the tech guy as it does so much and some I'm unable to master!!
Now going to get a shower, then brekkie, then crack on with the jobs.
Have a good day, stay safe and well x

morning all
had a very stressful evening last night. its a long story but basically my cat keeps going back to my old house which is 1.5 miles away. the lady who i used to live next door to fed him and let him sleep on her bed - never shoo ing him away as she just said aww let him sleep. now he has been there for 2 months living in the field behind hers. he is a rescue cat so wont let anyone including us touch him. we cant catch him. my husband went down all the time with a bowl of food and he was just not interested. his coat was still glossy and he had not lost any weight so we presume that he was being fed.in the time that i have been in the new house ( 18 months) i have all the while been chasing him here there any everywhere. he has caused lots of tears. he is here for a while and then hes gone. i kept him in for nearly a year. he has broken out of a locked cat flap and he has pushed windows slightly ajar with his head to get out. he will not stay in. i have another cat who lives here happily going in and out and always coming back.anyway she rang last night saying she cant afford to feed him and that we dont care and should come and get him. just to point out... he is neutered, all injections are up to date and he is/was regularly wormed and de flead...and he is also chipped. does that sound like we dont care. his last injections were june this year. im really cross with her as if another cat came into my house i would shoo it away as it doesnt live here. she has allowed him to feel he has a food source and now says she cant afford it. im not paying her as a matter of principle. shes now saying why dont you have him put down. er because i still want him???it sounds like nothing but this has been a worry for ever.
rant over.
on my own today as kids are both out. so may get off the sofa soon and do the garden....the worst job in the whole world for me. would rather clean the oven or toilet.
washing on and dw just finished.
quick hoover through and then ill get to it
have a good afternoon all0 -

Morning all,
Beautiful sunny day here, got 1 load on the line and another 2 to go, good drying day today
Sistercas, good luck today, try and keep it together till you have come away, big hugs xx
Topsy, so sorry you are having such a hard time, does your DH have any kids of his own ? if not it will be hard for him to understand that bond, where you will do anything for your kids, they have to come first and thats it, hope you can manage to sort something out xx
FS glad hubbie is ok xx
Need to take that b****y blind back to John Lewis this morning, it has completely broken now, they had better not try and argue,
Also need to make soup for dinner, will be a mixture fridge bottom soup, with bread and butter, rhubarb crumble and ice cream to follow, nice cheap dinner.
This afternoon I have to take dd for a uni open day, this is the first of many coming up, her dad can take her to the further afield ones.
Syman, your film sounds great :T, do you watch Dr Who ?
Ordered a new 16.5 tog duvet last night, so hopefully that will be here early next week, have woken up cold a couple of nights.
Have good days all xx
Wuvvies, can you not get the woman to keep the cat in next time he visits her, and then go and collect him, if you kept him in for a few weeks at your new home he might settle ? xx0
