Euro Bank Account

I will certainly have a look at the German DKB, I do speak a little German. I also use the German ADAC for my breakdown cover & find them excellent.
Sorry '111KAB' if by ignoring somebody I might seem rude but find 'bob the savers' posts nothing to do with opening a Euro account, as your posting of his words of 'wisdom' only shows what I mean. I am not looking for opinions on the rights & wrongs or if a Euro account is the best solution I was just after information on Euro accounts. He is not aware of all my circumstances & what I originally posted was only some of the reasons why I want to consider a Euro account.Ed0 -

The information provided was that he wanted a EUR account. You suggested a GBP account, which was clearly not the currency he wanted.Bob_the_Saver wrote: »Advice can only be given based on the information provided.0 -

You ignored the thread subject which is "Euro Bank Account". The question was not how to receive EUR-denominated dividends. The requirement was a EUR-denominated bank account; the question was which one.Bob_the_Saver wrote: »An alternative solution was provided to the situation mentioned, I thought this would come under the ANY HELP bit.0 -
Any more of this I shall throw a childish fit and put you and me on my Ignore list

So if I said "I'm looking to go on holiday to Panama, so would like to open a bank account in Chinese Yuan for my spending money" - the appropriate advice in your mind would be to recommend a Chinese account, and not to tell them there is a better way of doing it?0 -
The OP had already suggested he wanted to avoid being charged for an incoming SWIFT payment, so the suggestion of using another UK account with similar fees was inappropriate.callum9999 wrote: »So if I said "I'm looking to go on holiday to Panama, so would like to open a bank account in Chinese Yuan for my spending money" - the appropriate advice in your mind would be to recommend a Chinese account, and not to tell them there is a better way of doing it?0 -

I agree with you, he suggested trying to avoid the fee for sending a couple of hundred from Euro's to sterling by opening a Euro account but then paying to send several hundred or a couple of thousand perhaps from a sterling account to a Euro account to pay for his hols.
Smart move!0 -
No, he said he would use his Clarity Card to do this. No mention was made of sending money from a UK GBP account.Bob_the_Saver wrote: »but then sending several hundred or a couple of thousand perhaps from a sterling account to a Euro account to pay for his hols.
I think the OP is already one step ahead of you. Instead of focussing only on UK-based English-speaking banks, he is thinking outside the box. He came here hoping that people would be one step ahead of him and give him some useful advice, but he has mainly found advice that is one step behind.0
