I've not spent anything for days but today I have to go buy some fresh stuff. Very happy though, think I may make it to November 2nd UNDER BUDGET! :jWife and mother :jGrocery budget
April week 1 - £42.78 | week 2 - £53.0524lbs in 12 weeks 15/240 -
Gosh, completely behind now after a hectic week & a bit. Going to have to guesstimate the spends over this time, reckon it's around £55 on variety of little shops. We've done quite well at making a dent in the old stock cupboard, which has minimised any big buys for meals, and that spending has mostly been on replenishing my herbs & spices, some stocking up on beans & tortillas (random, but they were cheap in Tesko last week) and some extra goodies for feeding visitors last weekend.
Seem to be doing ok-ish with the budget so far, but I think a major freezer shop is due soon, it's looking decidedly empty of anything useful in there. Need to figure out a meal plan for this week, so some rooting through the cupboards is on the cards for today methinks.a penny picker upper. Bit of a stock up today, and the first one in what seems like an age. Have bought more laundry cleaning stuff as the stuff i bought on offer in December last year now seems to be running low
At least it don't go off!
Also bought a large pack of chicken thighs and mince which as a single person will take a while to get thru once i batch cook these and fill them out with veg etc.
So my grand spend of £25.48 to be added to my signature.
Was shocked...... last week in Mr T lemon curd 22p ....mr m today 50p for their value range equivelant, value rice pudding is also double the cost in mr m :eek:Consolidated and under control 42 payments to go.:(:o;):p:(:o;):p:(:o;):p:(:o;):p:(:o;):p:(:o;):p:(:o;):p:(:o;):p:([STRIKE]£7028.50[/STRIKE]£5990.43Aim: 35 and Debtfree0 -
Well have had a chat to my partner and we are going to give this a go. We will officially start on November's thread, but our month start is 21st of the month so once the new thread is up will put on there. We are going to start today making stuff up for the freezer though. We are going to make up some bolognese and put it in freezer bags so we can just lift it out the freezer on the morning ready for when we get home from work. Also have some lamb already so will make a casserole. Also get some jacket potatoes, cottage cheese and eggs so can have slimming world quiche and spuds for tea for a cheap meal. Hopefully will lose a bit weight too as will not be eating as much rubbish!0

Well, I went off to Ald's to get some stuff.. Didn't have the medicines I needed so had to head off to Asdf afterwards.. Anyway total spend was £15 so am hoping that I don't spend any money for the next 10 days that I am at work. Anyway, was quite impressed at Ald's.. carrots for 36p!!! the same bag would have cost double that anywhere else, if not treble... So, fruit and veg will now be purchased there before I even head to Asdf..
Just a silly question that I am hoping someone will answer.. I saw a few branded products that were well below the prices that they are sold at in the other supermarkets.. Are they for real and if yes, how can they afford to sell them so cheaply.. Sorry, if it's a daft question with an obvious answer:rotfl::rotfl:

I've been doing pretty well keeping to one shop per week and not venturing near any supermarkets in between. However, getting home late on Friday night I caved in to an easy dinner of tesco's fresh pasta and sauce. On the plus side, this stopped me from spending over a tenner at dominos, so could be worse!
A £14.76 shop in sains today ought to last the week, and includes some stuff for a roast this afternoon. Unfortunately it has to be a vege roast, and in my experience, nuts don't stretch like chicken...
I was pretty pleased with some posh bloomer bread reduced right down and 3 decent size trout fillets for £2.50. I seem to be averaging £15 a week so far, which I'm really happy with, although I haven't had to buy any laundry or cleaning products this month and those things sure do add up.GC Oct: £71.22/£80 = £8.78 left0 -
Not doing as well as most on here, so here goes...
The triple points voucher was burning a hole in my wallet and I succumbed. The groceries part of my bill came to £78.88 (not counting the Christmas presents only food and drink) leaving me with less than £30 to the end of the month.
My penance today was to do a food inventory and my cupboards, fridge and freezer have enough food for 31 evening meals for two, 16 lunches and 24 breakfasts. And that's without thinking. With a bit of creativity, it could probably stretch to more than that.
Will try and limit my spends to milk and fresh veg to the end of the month and will reduce next month's budget to £300 less any overspend for October.
And I have no more vouchers to lead me astray!January GC 299/300
February GC 295/270
March GC 92/243 then lost the plot and stopped recording for two months and went way over
May GC 372/250 still looking for the plot
June GC 118/2500 -
Well I have about £165 to last until the 31st which should be fine but doubt I'll finish much under budget this month
That has to cover some regular groceries, beer for OH, party food & drink for our Halloween party, food for OH while I'm away and food for me and DSs for first 2 days on hols (exc eating out). Having said that my Dad will prob pay for most food while I'm away (visiting him) but I'd rather not count on it as I don't want to be a sponger. If it wasn't for buying booze for OH & our party I could prob manage the rest of it on £100 but I guess I'll see how it all goes. Lasagne tonight anyway.1% at a time no. 40. £8000 (For dream family holiday) 94/100
