Made soup with yesterday's stock which smells amazing but will have to wait til tomorrow 2 get eaten as off out shortly! Oh well, at least I know what I'm eating in work next week.

I finally got around to doing some shopping, went to Aldi this week and managed to get the lot for £54.97 So I am quite pleased with that, only a couple of things I needed to get elsewhere, but I will leave it for a few days.

This is exciting! I'm going to try it on my own this month, before committing to joining in here in November.
I reckon I could save quite a bit on my supermarket shopping. I've started tracking what I spend with an app called Toshl (just using the free version, would be counterproductive to pay for it!!) it allows you to set a budget so you can keep a close eye on what you've spent and how much you have left.
I'm going to use the OrSaveIt app too, when it launches in Oct, to move the little savings I make in the supermarket (on BOGOFs and other special offers) straight into a savings account.
I'll hopefully save quite a bit before xmas! Good luck everyone!0 -
Hi everyone and EspS welcome
What a lovely afternoon for a change. Sun shining here.
Well now first shop in October challenge
Mr T's stock up
Mushy peas......... 21 cans @12p..........2.88
Marrowfat peas.....24 cans @14p..........3.36
Kidney Beans........10 cans @18p..........1.80
Value Pitta...........4 packs @20p..........1.00
Fruit Loaf .........................................1.99 (eldery mam loves this)
So total cost £10.83
Saves me going back to Mr T for a while so avoiding temptation.
Good luck to all as we start another month.
Am going to start adding 1 item a week for Christmas food.
Asda delivery every week saves me money as I only buy what I need rather than pushing a trolley around and seeing something that I don't need.0 -
Hiya
Haven't been on this thread for a loooong time, and need to give myself a kick up the bum, so will start asap (well monday anyway).
My month will start on the 1st to the 31st, and would like to set my budget at £300.
A big thanks to you all for your inspiration and especially to those who keep the thread going (off to update sig)
Many Thanks

So, second day of the new month for me and I've already spent nearly £60! However, I have stocked up on pack-up stuff for the month, including choc bars, crisps/cheddars, oatcakes, cereal bars and pittas etc so this should even out over the month. I'm declaring £182.21/£200 for Sept so am pretty pleased with that.
Good luck for October everyone. x0 -

I've noticed that kidney beans are always 18p in Ald1, so if you need more, try there! They area a price match for chopped toms, and have cheap-ish bread too.0
