Aqua credit card - DO NOT USE!

Why does the OP insist that interest wasn't payable. Does he/she make the rules? No, I'm afraid not.
But he admitted he got it wrong and then the very next post got another snide comment.
I quote:Is that right? If that's the case, then my error I guess...perhaps my post should be read as a caution against breaching your limit then rather than a recommendation against using Aqua. Thanks for clearing that up, I actually feel better now knowing I've not been wronged!
People do like to stick the knife in on these forums, you see it daily.0 -

But in the same post had an incredulous attitude of I shouldn't pay interest, I know better, it can't be right as I have a DD set up.Originally Posted by abu892 I explained that I had a DD set up and that interest was not payable on intra-month balances, but after half an hour of going through call centre hell, I lost the will to live and paid the balance.
He was trying to tell Aqua that they were wrong, they clearly weren't ! Nothing wrong with challenging them (companies make mistakes) but check beforehand to make sure you're right.
Then went onto to wrongly state and TELL us not to use them.the interest charge had nothing to do with the fact that I 'broke the terms and conditions'0 -
Or stick to the credit limit they give you and all is well, right?SwagBucks Challenge: 402/849

Quite happy with my Aqua card. 3% cashback on spending I have to make regardless can not be turned down.
But thanks for the tip regarding not breaching the credit limit. I was simply going to ignore it like you did [:rotfl:]0 -

*sigh*. Tempting to respond to several of the posts above, but something tells me it would be an exercise in futility.
I've just popped back on though to reiterate my thanks to Gromitt. Some of the other posters above might like to take the opportunity to contrast their responses to Gromitt's, who managed to disagree with me and put me straight without resorting to derision or condescension - even offering a tip on managing credit limits! A far better example of how these forums should be used.
But, I doubt this little post will make any difference to anyone...I'm not revisiting this thread to see any further responses, however, if you wish to continue spitting bile into the void, knock yourself out.
Good luck to all of you in your money saving endeavours
You say you aren't going to read this, but just in case...
Next time, write a post about the event without giving it a title of "DO NOT USE!" and filling your post with accusations that the company doesn't know what they're doing and how you know best.
I'm fairly certain that if you did that, you would have had polite responses correcting you. If you start with an inflammatory post (regardless of it being against a financial institution that none of us are connected with), expect inflammatory answers. That's how I reply on here anyway.0 -

But i'm not buying anything that I wouldn't already be buying, just petrol/food etc, so in effect it is a free £100.
Glad to see you have accepted it was your mistake OP. It's these kind of mistakes that we all learn lessons from so thanks for sharing it with us

To be fair, I've had the same from Aqua, for some reason they don't take one of my debit cards, I had a missed payment charge because they said the address doesn't match on my HSBC debit card to the one on the aqua credit card (all my cards are registered to the same address). Tried my Halifax debit card no problem.0

Aqua don't process your debit card, they use a third party to do that, and they use AVS it seems, so it needs to be exactly the same as the address shown on your HSBC Card statement. Something as simple as slightly different wording can cause problems.
By far the easiest way is FPs. Sent instantly and received/processed same day, even at weekends (should still pay before due date on working day however).0
