Good old compensation culture!
I can't remember because I'm sure it must have been over a year ago I read the original post but didn't the op struggle taking things futher with someone whos self employed?

I wasn't serious about sueing (sp?!), and I agree with you about compensation culture, but I think a well-worded letter suggesting that some appropriate gesture to make amends for their rudeness is in order...
Have just written a similar one to Orange - have had no service (customer or phone) from them in over five months, and I see that they're giving new customers iPods to sign up - doesn't seem fair somehow. Sorry, digressing...
