  • I know when i was pregnant with my first i was over 12 weeks before i found out and even then had no bump till she was almost cooked, i was 8 moths gone before my bump appeared lol.

As for movements i didnt feel much as her placenta was towards my tummy so when i did feel movements i could have quite easily passed it off as wind bubbling around if i didnt know better.

I only found out i was pregnant because i had just gone back for my depo injection and didnt feel at all right after.
There's this place in me where your fingerprints still rest, your kisses still linger, and your whispers softly echo. It's the place where a part of you will forever be a part of me.

Somebody my Dad knew did in her late 40s years ago - she had, as far as the doctors knew (and her too) gone threw menopause early, in her early 40s, completely finished - a couple of years later she gave birth in the village, total labour was well under an hour.

A friend of mine didn't get confirmed until almost half way through as it didn't show up on commercial pregnancy tests or the doctor's one - it wasn't unti they did an ultrasound (looking for other problems, she was having pain) they discovered it. Hers could easily have gone missed for longer with a slight shift.

I delivered (or caught) a baby one New Years Eve. I was working the night shift (Midwife) and got called to A & E as a 44 year old lady had been admitted with tummy pains/ cramps. The junior doctor thought they felt like contractions and suspected she might be in labour. Now this lady had two adult daughters and was working as a barmaid when she thought she was struck down by a severe bout of food poisoning. It turned out that she was in the last stages of labour and pushed out a healthy baby boy a few minutes after midnight.

Now she had not a clue. Her face was just so shocked when I put the baby onto her tummy and her daughters were so cross at her - shouting at her:eek: Her baby was about 36 weeks and on the small side but very healthy. Luckily her maternal instincts kicked in very quickly and she bonded with baby. I looked after on the ward for the next week on and off. Each time I saw her she was more happy and her DD's eventually came round.

I did talk to her about how she did not know she was pregnant because I was sceptical. She was a larger lady and thought she had just gained more weight, she had seen her GP as she had been feeling under the weather and he had put it down to early menopause and she was taking indigestion remedy for an uncomfortable tummy. She was also incredibly busy in her job and on her feet and very often women dont feel they baby move so much when this is the case.

Her employers and the community rallied round and she was inundated with baby stuff and made the local papers as her son was a New Year Baby. A few months later I was shopping in a supermarket and saw her and her DD with the baby shopping and they looked very happy:T
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
  • I am so envious of ladies who have no idea

It sounds like my worse nightmare! Then again knowing I'm pregnant would be bad enough :rotfl:

I also googled POAS as I didn't know what it meant :p

A girl who worked for my mum had a hiddden pregnancy. She went to the doctor with an odd feeling in her stomach. He told her she was six months pregnant.

The girl in question was a very slim young woman (late teens), hadn't missed a period, felt sick, or put on weight. Finding out she was pregnant, especially so far along, was a shock to her. Her daughter is now about 18 years old :)
your mum didn't own a florists did she? Because thats pretty much what happened to me lol

I was on the pill then one month I didn't get a bleed on my withdrawal week. Went to the docs who said it could sometimes happen like that and not to worry. Didn't get a bleed the next month either so took a pg test just to be on the safe side and yep I was pg. I thought I was only a couple of months tops but when I went for my booking in scan at the hospital I was almost 6 months pregnant!

I had no symptoms what so ever and was wearing my normal clothes so it was a bit of a shock to say the least. My ninja baby is now 19, on the pill herself and takes regular pg tests jic :rotfl:
  • My mum always told me she didnt get a bump till well after 7 months and her doctor said it was because she was a dancer she had tight abs and was carrying me towards her back.
