CT Benefit ending April 2013

I have just had a letter saying that my council tax benefit will be ending in April 2013.
I can barely afford the rent as it is, if I have to pay all my CT myself I will not be able to afford to live here and will have to move somewhere cheaper.

Do you have a question? Does it say why its ended? Perhaps you just need to reapply after a period of time?"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

I know, it's a scary prospect. Just had a look at my council tax bill, it totals approx £1100 per annum, which is about £22.00 PW. I'm on IB and in the process of migrating to ESA, from what i've been reading I don't hold out much hope of passing the Atos assessment..Everything is just too frightening to contemplate at the moment. I'm a Housing association tennant which affords a measure of security, but it looks like all that will change with these reforms, god help us. I am unable to work and have been long term sick (15 years) So god only knows who's going to employ me if Atos find me fit for work..I can see me being Homeless.:(0

As pensioners we are hardly 'rich' I can assure you but apparently rich enough to pay full council tax.
I completely agree that EVERYONE should pay something towards the services provided by the council and I personally would include pensioners in that.0 -
I lost my job 6 years ago, got a new job on half the wages. Had to move somewhere cheaper.
What's the difference exactly?0 -

Whilst I sympathise with anybody going through a hard time and I have hated the tories since Thatcher ruined our country.
One does have to face facts that we can't go on forever paying people to live in houses they can't afford or to have babies they can't afford.0 -

so you want to see a return to the poll tax?interesting that
OP ctb isnt ending, from next april it will be run by the councils with a 10% cut in the budget, all oaps will be protected as will the"vunerable"(although this hasn`t been defined)
its expected that most people who currently get 100% ctb will have to find around £38 a YEAR from next april0
