Today after 3 months of waiting i got a killing reply, that 2 contracts with vodafone sim £100 cashback each didnt go thru, I went thru the quidco site saw the offer for vodafone sim only £15.50 pm with £100 cashback, clicked on the link thru quidco........

the tracking didnt show so as i TRUST quidco (5years using quidco) I thought id leave it and email them about the tracking issue, Big mistake, a few days later i put in the missed cashback they did what ever they do,

3 months later quidco tell me vodafone said no, (today) now at this point you cannot reply to the support msg on quidco you have to go to FAQ about failed cashbacks and find your missing cashback then you are able to type out a msg, which i have done,

But the thing i dont get is,

vodafone know I signed up on the 7july start crt check process,
quidco know i have a missing tracking on 7july
vodafone issues sim on 10th july after crt check,
vodafone aug 10th paid 1st bill
quidco 19th sept reply vodafone declined cashback, no other reason given

but yet common sense would link up the above to prove i went thru quidco site, and tracking on vodafone site has failed (im only guessing vodafone do there own tracking and quidco do there own)

OK, now you know that Quidco are rubbish in supporting their customers and chasing cashback. I realised this a couple of years ago and since then give a preference to TCB that is more reliable (IMO) and much more customer-oriented.
  • point take onboard, never had a problem with quidco before this tho

    small update....
vodafone have said they only offer the airtime to quidco, ??? so the offer given by quidco is by quidco cashback is to be paid by quidco, vodafone have nothing to do with it ??

You have plenty of evidence to say you followed a contract - but do you have evidence of their (Vodafone or Quidco) promise to pay you?

I dont know how cashback operates for sure but it's either contractual promise or it aint - maybe they have a clause/escape route for not honouring cashback promises?

I think you have enough evidence for a case - enough 'signals' to indicate a contact/or terms to say that vodafone or Quidco would need documented evidence ('the' contact) to negate responsibility

You have enough evidence to suggest "an agreement" was made - the only thing they could counter you with is "the actual agreement" to the contrary - i.e. if its your word against theirs you will totally paste them
When will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?

did you have a look at the deal on the Vodafone site before you went through Quidco as this can mean no cashback as the initial search was done not through the Quidco website
  • None of that matters. Like Grumbler, I left Quidco and went to TCB for just this reason. Apparently (having tried every way I could to get them to start treating their - then - members properly) I was their highest earner. Now I may well be that on TCB instead. They aren't perfect, but at least they are a LOT fairer and more customer-facing than Quidco is now. Quidco is now entirely a mercenary organisation (like so many others) and after being with them from near their start for several years - AND being VERY loyal - I can't find a good word to say about them any more.
  • Hmmm.... if you claim to be their highest earner, how many thousands a month are you getting in cashback??

At the end of the day Quidco are at the mercy of Vodafone and the affiliate network Vodafone uses (if any). The sorts of promotions Vodafone run are predominately meant for affiliate marketing websites rather than cashback and therefore the infrastructure is almost never in place for customer service people to see what is going on so ignore anything that Vodafone's own call centre say.

The problem is very clear to see from what you say, it didn't track. There can be a whole host of reasons why it didn't track and looking on Quidco's website will list a few. So Quidco can see you clicked on the link but Vodafone do not have a record of Quidco being the affiliate that referred you and hence not paying Quidco and thus Quidco not paying you.

The simple fact you happened to buy a contract on the same date as Quidco can see you clicked a link on their site is not going to be sufficient to force Vodafone to pay up. With all affiliate schemes ultimately the advertiser has the last say.

Personally I have nothing against their customer service. I've twice had cashback declined and appealed and got it but in both cases it did track and that is key!

Remember that cashback is always a bonus and never guaranteed.
  • Sme thing has happened with me , you can see i purchased a contract on 20th August but it hasnt tracked , I have had to raise a cashback claim , see what happens

Actually it was them who stated that - not me who claimed it. And yes, that would be thousands (though not per month). And no - Quidco COULD do something about all the rogue merchants they continue to promote even when the cashback never materialises (AND after it DID track).
  • There was another poster having trouble with a 3 contract, their application had to have some additional ID checks which meant it was wholly completed online. Thus cashback would not be paid.

You mention that you had to have a credit check that was a few days later, I wonder if that means the transaction wasn't wholly completed online?

I've never had a problem with Quidco myself. They have also paid any claims I've made. I did order sn iPhone 5 last week & the cashback wasn't tracking but they have emailed today to say they know there was a problem & they know I clicked through so to put a claim in with my reference & it would be paid.
Desperately trying to get debt free!
