I am just overjoyed by our local charity shops in west london.
After spending many years in a charity shop wilderness (see Peterborough), I have found so many wonderful clothes and household goods in my new local charity shops...
But the charity shop down the road excelled itself...
My printer broke ages ago, and was going to cost loads to repeair. I went into the Family Aid shop on saturday, and get a HP scanner/printer/photocopier (with ink!) for £19, and they threw in a sweater and an Octopus handbag (again worth a few bob!) in with it.
It works perfectly, and I am over the moon!!!

Impy78 I know what you mean about P'boro - I live here and commute to uni but never seem to find much around here! Everytime I go to a university town/city now I head straight for the charity shops to see what books they've got in. Apparently there is a street in Bury St Edmunds that is all charity shops - been trying to get there for ages but never seem to have the time! :rolleyes:0

You might want to spend your next holiday in Darlington then there are tons of them - there are ten within about 250 yards of each other. i end up laden with bags some weekends without spending more than a tenner!
happy hunting.:D:hello:  It's official I'm addicted to Boots - the total on my Advantage Card has gone over £300  :hello:0 -
they are a bit of a lottery in my experience, either loads or nothing. i don't buy second hand clothes but books, cds, are definitely worth looking for, films are a bit thin on the ground except on vhs and furniture is in short supply in the ones here in north manchester.
car boot sales are cool, my best buy was a retro clock for i think 50p or £1, cleaned up nicely and am now looking for paint to match it!!!!things arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back thenMercilessKiller wrote: »BH is my best mate too, its ok
I trust BH even if he's from Manchester..
all your base are belong to us :eek:0 -
Am I the only one who doesn't like them?
Maybe the charity shops in Chester are weird. But books I want are around £2, and I see things more expensive than they were origionallyI like to make money
