Getting a cheque

Hi
I only have a basic bank account and use the coventry building society, i need to have a cheque and my buliding society cannot supply me one as its only a basic bank account, i need a cheque for £651.00 and i'm trying to avoid paying the post office postal order charge of around £30.00 in total as they have to issue 3 postal orders, the first two costing £12.50 each and then the thirs around £6.50, does anyone know where i can find somewhere i can get a cheque for a smaller fee for the full £651.00 cheque?
Thank you

Whats the cheque for? Maybe there's another way of paying them? If its a bill, then the bank could probably pay it for you direct from your account ?

I thought that Coventry only had one type of current account called Coventry First.

    "Withdrawals...
Request a cheque over the phone or in branch whenever you need one"

  • A friend or family member you trust who could pay via cheque and you give/transfer them the cash?
