I wasn't away this weekend but have had gorgeous god daughter staying as apparently " life is to much to cope with and she needs to get away for a few days"

When she gets up this morning/early afternoon she will be beaten with a stick as she left the bathroom light AND extractor running last night for at least 10 minutes
    Mortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0
    ISA challenge start 2019 £3000/£1500 (50%)

It's really the only way to go Radish.....

My daughter is staying over this evening, and will be no doubt hanging around the house all day tomorrow using my utilities, touching my things, and breathing my air (whilst I'm at work). I may just turn off the gas, electricity and water, and take all my possessions with me when I leave for work in the morning though....you've given me food for thought on that one, so thank you Radish:D

Just take all the fuses to work with you, that will stop her using your things, unless it's the Hoover, dishwasher, lawn mower that she will be using :D

  • Hi Natty - try the gluten thing. I have underactive thyroid and have been on meds for 6 years. No-one told me there was a very strong link between thyroid disease and gluten intolerance / coeliac disease. Having recently stumbled across the facts I found out that gluten can inhibit the body from using (in simple terms) thyroid hormones therefore making you feel sluggish whether you have underactive thyroid or not. Other foods that do this are found in the cruciferous family (eg: broccoli, cabbage, kale, cauliflower and - sorry Radish, radishes. Fruits to limit include peaches, pears and strawberries. Coffee is also a bit of a no-no.

There are also foods that will support your body in 'using' the thyroid hormones including certain fish and seaweed. I have been experimenting lately and seriously limiting gluten whilst eating sushi :D and feel so much better. Its early days but I'm going to keep going for a bit and speak to GP when its time for my annual blood test.

If you want links to websites send me a PM and I'll point you in the right direction - we're off on hols on 7th though so I might not reply until I get back.

And yes, Genius bread is extortionate

Good idea about the fuses Radish:D:T

Do you know, I don't actually have a clue if BH in Scotland although you are probably right. As I work for LA we take the local, rather than bank holidays.

It's very windy today...and also very warm. I'm delighted to report that I have been doing UNIVERSITY reading:j

This evening, I'm going to attempt a gluten free meal planner for this week. Will no doubt return to an office packed with cakes and biscuits tomorrow, so will have to be über strong:p
