It has now been 27 months without crisps
I gave them up 7 years ago and along with a healthy eating plan lost 4 1/2 stone, then I fell off the wagon and started eating crisps again and all the weight went back on and another 1/2 stone (think cookie monster but crisps instead)
Dad had a mild heart attack and had a pace maker fitted and on New Years Day 2011 he asked me to think about making some New Year Resolutions that where better for my heart
So crisps went, started losing weight again but then moved in with BF and suddenly we were eating rubbish again, so weight started going up again.
But this year I will lose the weight, only lost 12lbs so far but we are both making changes that should now stick for life (fingers crossed)
I'm in awe that you are going to have a dry April, I'm drinking but not as much, haven't drunk in the house and only have 2-3 drinks when we are out when it used to be 6-8Mortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

Wow that's some budget np, I haven't managed 500 for groceries yet ( nearest this month but still not achieved) and have really tried. Plus I spend 150 on fuel a month. Suspect I would do better if I joined you in dry april but have week off with children so may try next week. Never read magazines or papers as just never have time. AAARRRRGHHHH what is wrong with me???? I only posted the crisp wagon this morning, and yet by 2pm I was shoving crisps in my mouth without even giving it a second thought:eek:
Radish - absolutely amazing on the crisp front, and also brilliant on the alcohol...that's a great reduction.
I WILL NOT EAT CRISPS, I WILL NOT EAT CRISPS, I WILL NOT EAT CRISPS
SS - I love crisps and chocolate equally:(February13 - £74990 (or thereabouts)

My budget for this month has been set through necessity rather than 'let's give it a go' so I will have to stick to this.........I reckon the lack of wine consumption/magazine and newspaper purchase definitely saves me approx £30 per month:oFebruary13 - £74990 (or thereabouts)

Hello,
I have eaten all my Easter eggs already and am already missing chocolate. Planning to lose a stone and should give up alcohol as that is my primary source of empty calories, but I am starting by going down to twice a week, from four on average. I am so impressed by 27 months without crisps.Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0
