Those microwavable wheat or homemade rice bags are super for proving bread when the house is cold. ;)

See another brilliant idea, we don't have an airing cupboard so I have nowhere to prove bread. How do you use them fuddle?

I heat mine in the microwave, place it on the windowsill with my bowl of bread dough (clingfilm over the top) wrap the whole thing in a teatowel to retain the warmth and an hour or so later, bread ready to be knocked back :)

Bread doesn't need a warm place to prove. It will take longer, but if your kitchen is cold it will still rise. The longer it rises the better the flavour. It will even rise overnight in the fridge.

You can improvise a rice bag with a handful of rice knotted in a clean sock. I used one a lot earlier this year when I had really awful toothache and it helped quite a lot.

OH won't have those wheatbags in the house as she hates the smell when they get a bit old, but a HM rice bag (using value rice, obviously!) is ok as you can change the rice when it starts to smell overcooked!

  • I have to share this and I didn't know where else to share!

I am just shy of 31 weeks pregnant and assumed my Winter coat didn't fit so sold some stuff on eBay and ordered one from N3w Look. (I was going to get one on eBay but they were going for as much as the new ones).
It arrived yesterday (free collection from store near hubbys work) and was too big so today sent it back and hunted down my old coat and tried it on and it fits fine. I do look quite fat in it LOL but story of my life at the moment :p

So now I have £25 in the bank to save towards something we actually need :T

common sense: check all old stuff before buying new :o

Even though I don't work there anymore I still love Sainsburys. I'm waiting for the next 25% off sale so I can get a cashmere cardigan. I love their cashmere cardigans they're beautiful and great quality!

Not sure if its done as a regional thing but my local Sainsbugs is running the 25% sale. A pair of leather knee high boots just happened to jump into the trolley.......;)

At 31 weeks pregnant with my first you couldn't even tell I was pregnant if I wore a baggy top - then I got huge in the last few weeks and my maternity trousers got too small round my bump  Mind you it is a bit silly to spend a fortune on clothes you are only going to wear for such a short time - I was always a bit tight-fisted where maternity clothes were concerned as I like to get years and years of wear out of my clothes :rotfl:

It's all over the country until next Monday (last day of purchasing is Monday) :) I went in today to check it out but alas there were no cashmere cardigans! They come in October apparently so then I'll wait until the next 25% off/ I save enough Nectar points and staff discoung goes up.

Are they the sort of tan leather knee high boots? I was admiring those in our store!

I only came away with a pair of fluffy slipper boots (£5) because I have already given my housemates the layering lecture so I thought I should practice what I preach. I'm the biggest wuss in our house but I'm the only one who doesn't ever complain about the cold. My parents have a victorian house and we didn't have proper modern central heating when I was a kid so it was cold or really bloody cold so I'm used to improvising.
