Nice, a heater IS posh for camping!!! We have a leisure battery for the lights & 12v socket dvd players the boys use.

A couple of hours til we're away for the weekend!!! And before you ask NP, no its not going to be a naughty weekend away!!! I know what you're thinking!

    Have a fun weekend everyone!

I am both shocked and mortified that you would even think, that I would suggest such a thing Matt the Chippy:eek:
Enjoy the glamping and hope the mini ear defenders for the baby Chippys block out any unsuitable 'bedroom noises' for impressionable young ears;)

  • I'm back!!!

Had a good fun weekend in the mud! Kids liked it even though we couldn't see or do as much as we wanted.

To give you a flavour of things-

  • Have a great time!!! The play car is fantastic - there is a market for this Matt!!

Thanks for your kind words. It was great fun. I did a BBQ in the rain and cooked pasta with a hailstones shower!!!

Not sure if I could make much from doing these. Materials would cost a fair bit, I was lucky to have this free. Difficult for people to collect or to send. Its just a bit of fun for the boys. I think I'll make another smaller and lighter one to go on the trolley.

Have a fun weekend Matt and hope that there is a break in the weather for you.

Thank you, we did have some sun for a couple of hours on sat. Hammered down, the rest of it though. Didn't dampen spirits though.

    Hi Natty,

From reading your posts, I knew that's what you were thinking!!! Haha. No worries for the ear defenders, none of the van rocking going on here! We needed the ear defenders for when the boys decided to whine!

  • I've been looking around the other parts of the forum (mortgage and houses bits), I'm getting the idea from posts in the mortgage section that in the years to come (my guess, 3-5 years), there will be a whole heap of pain from the banks dropped on everyone. The way they all seem to be slowly but surely raising their SVR products and next are the fixed being offered ever higher than before. It does seem to be on its way! This is motivation enough for me to try to get a move on and shift this lead weight!

I'm going to get back into this ebay fun. It helps that I can get leftover bits bobs from job sites that I can sell. First off, I have a load of unused kitchen unit soft closers, could get me £80-90 eventually when they all sell. Plus I really to get going with selling the car bits I have in the basement.

    Hi Matt,

Get selling the car bits. I was reading your thread and you did really well off those in the early days of your diary.

  • Hi Matt, I cannot believe the variety of stuff which sells. I thinks it's a bit like doing surveys, you need to get into the swing of it. Also the more stuff you put up, allows prospective buyers to see what else you're selling. I'm selling in themes at the moment ie techie stuff, kitchen stuff etc. Selling this way has resulted in a number of things being sold to the same person. :)

That's my only advice as Ammonite is the eb@y Queen and she's got her hands full with little Ammonite at the moment but will be back, I'm sure.

    Good luck Tilly

  • Thanks Thistle & Tilly,

I seem to start and stop all the time with ebay. Sometimes it feels easy to sell and others, a right pain!

You're right that I do need to get moving with the car parts. I've got hundreds of pounds worth of bits just sat there. They would never get used by me as I don't plan on going back to that car again.

Does anyone else have the same worries about interest rates shooting skywards in the years to come? There's going to be a lot of people in trouble as they borrowed to their max when rates were at the lowest. At least we're all trying to minimise the effect of this.

The thought keeps crossing my mind, and I'd tend to agree that in a few years time things are going to be a lot less comfortable for people with debt than they are now. Things are certainly not easy now... but I do think they're going to get worse when interest rates climb again.
The only problem is, no one can really predict what the government are going to do to try and stimulate growth, but it seems anything they might do is going to be highly aggravating!

We shall see what the budget says today- and then see how things pan out. It's unplesant all the time
