Yay, got to the bank in time. So I OP'd £800 to start to pay back the £4,500 I took out. Just need to wait for my tax rebate and I'll be able to clear the rest of it.

I'm pleased with how things are progressing. Before starting this, I wouldn't have believed I could save like this! Its great what canbe done with an obsession and an addictive personality!!!

  • Hi everyone

Its feeling frustrating waiting for pay and the tax rebate to be paid into my account. Hurry up!!! Still, Mon is the DD payment, so £244 into the pot.

When I looked at my mortgage savings pot online, I was confused by a second monthly OP. Now I've worked it out, it seems I do get paid interest on the account and is paid each month. I thought I didn't, so its a nice £400 ish extra since opening the account.

Next month should see daily interest dip below £6 per day! Yay!

  • A nice surprise today. Found £30 in my jeans pocket I didn't know I had. Did 3 hours of solid mad house cleaning. So meant I could have a guilt free trip to the pub for the footie. Oh and beers and nachos! Spent nice times with the kids for the morning, a top day all round. The mrs is very pleased with her new man (helpful, not lazy!), there was even a promise on offer for later!!!

    Haha, its fun being me!

    Yes, you're right GG.

Things are going well work wise which stops me from being stressed in general. This leads to a happy and relaxed home life with the kids happy. This makes both my partner and me relaxed with everything. A happy Mrs makes a happy me.

Now that I'm saving like a man possessed, the old saying of money attracts money seems to be working. I mean, when I couldn't rub two coins together, nothing extra work wise would happen. Or it would be a real struggle to get anything to happen. Now I'm saving, it feels and seems like its no effort to make extra money. I hope it doesn't come across bad and sound like boasting to those that are finding it hard going. Would never be my intention at all. Hopefully some will know what I'm on about and understand.

Not at all Matt. It won't last forever, but enjoy the lucky time while it's here. I do believe you make your own luck though. So, if you're happier/motivated you're inclined to stop to chat to someone who later on thinks of you when a neighbour wants some work doing etc.

  • I've lost count of the amount of times I've been told how lucky I am. I'd like to think I had a little part to play in that though!

In the last year I've tried to help two work friends that were/ are in the doldrums. The first was stressed to high heaven on the verge of losing his house. We worked like crazy and I spoke of how people project themselves onto others. If you are stressing, then its hard to not come across like that to others and they will be less inclined to offer you work. He saw what I meant and managed to calm himself and project a better image to people. Within two weeks, he started to take orders for work and hasn't looked back since. He even has motivational scripts up on the wall in his workshop to keep him on track.

My other mate thinks I talk a load of old carp and doesn't buy into it at all. I read his doom and gloom talk of work for this year on Facebook. I tell people this will be an awesome year for work. So, yes we do make our own luck Some of my luck comes from speaking to strangers who have become friends.

Exactly :T. I read a really good article about successful men. They asked them how lucky they felt and then they had to complete a questionnaire about how many people they knew who were called Alan, Bob etc. The 'luckiest' were those who knew the most people - i.e. those that networked the most had more opportunities come their way.

    Enjoy your evening ;).
