Was the longest working week ever for me, the inspection that finished Tuesday we had been working towards for the past year and everyone was on their knees by the time the inspectors left that evening. The rest of the week just dragged so much.

    Hope you feel better soon.

Bet you're glad it's over hun. When do you get feedback from the inspection? Was it an ofsted inspection?

Agree and if you think about it, the cap concept sort of confirms that they cannot fix the core issue.

If the glitch items (in an I.T sense) could be fixed properly then a cap would not be needed. So it sort of follows (not science but logic) that the ongoing glitch opportunities will continue and probably not even reduce.

A cap is a blunt weapon to stop the big claims but I'd say does not actually kill the core fault.

They are putting a band aid on it.

might even get less hassle. might just put 14.99 ones through without questioning...

  • I'm not so sure the cap is being put in place because they can't fix it. I think it is more a case of buying theselves time to examine the price checker extensively before uploading any upgrades. After all it is one thing to make a mistake, it is another to try to correct the mistake and end up making even bigger ones. They may well be overviewing a number of policies and processes along side the price checker to ensure other potential loop holes are covered.

Is a good point yes.......it could as you say well be buying time.

I'm fairly sure they have a major redesign on their hands. There are so many disparate systems and components being glued together that the glitches are going to be very tough to fix...not impossible but very tough.....redesigning the system (and as you rightly say, using the cap as a blunt weapon in the short term) is the most likely way forward.

Having said that, the cost of doing so will be huge....even for a monster like w@lmart. And it will take time for sure.

But for sure the mechanisms that create the glitch and money saving opportunities are not gone.

I believe this against M, from Sunflower's post. Looks like a standalone glitch. Don't suppose anyone has any recommendations for other items to buy with it over and above 10p sweets fillers.
