  • Hello everyone,

I just wanted to say hi, introduce myself and say a hugh THANK YOU to you guys. I have a 4 year old and 6 month old so am currently on maternity leave, and maternity pay is not that much! But thanks to you guys I have been able to stock up on baby stuff and shampoo for me without it costing me too much.

I hope to be able to add some finds of my own at some point. :)

    Claire

    Welcome :)
  • Anyone remember Jolly Ranchers, they were a proper sweet! I'm sure they still have them in America!

My mum brought 8 bags home with her this year, not the little ones but 1.5kg ones

everyone she worked with asked her to bring them some. She had to use DSes backpack to bring them home as she couldn't fit anything else in her suitcase.
Just reminds me I think I saw a bag on her table yesterday, I think I remember tasting them when I was little and then again recently they were sold here again so had them then. I think watermelon was my fav, will have to see if the bag belongs to anyone and it might find a new home with me :D

  • And for those of you that are trying to cause trouble on the thread, I'm sorry but I have to say ... get a bloody life.

We have people here who've supported others through all sorts of goings on, offered friendly advice, been a shoulder to cry on, shared stories about their lives, we've laughed, we've cried, somewhere there's always someone with a friendly word or an elite hug...we also have some fantastic newbies who have joined in.

You are making some of us miss out supporting these people when they need it because some can't keep up with all the carp that is going on here or be bothered to wade through all the carp some are posting.
You are ruining everything this thread stood for - so to all you TWANTS can you kindly do one PLEASE!

lol...no East Midlands way....and everyone I knew had them...this was late 80s early 90s....I remember my dad buying me one off a bloke in the pub :rotfl:.... it was hideous :rotfl: it was obviously more of a kid/teenage thing though as I dont remember any adults wearing them....

apart from the geography teachers on field trips...their reasoning being that if they got wet, they dried easier and quicker than jeans!!!

and following on from that....in Peter Kay style...why did teachers always use to wear strange clothes on school trips....they always looked like a teacher...never like a normal grown up!!

They used to wear weird clothes all the time in our school. The cord jackets with the elbow patches, shirts made of wool etc.
Although I do confess that I own one of the those bucket type leather handbags that the lady teachers used to have.
One trip to inverliever we had a fancy dress and one of the teachers decided to wear a tartan blanket as a kilt. One of the girls pulled off the blanket and we all saw his grey y fronts. :eek:yuk still makes me shiver thinking about it. eeew!
When I grow old, I dont want people thinking "what a sweet old lady" I want them to think
"oh carp what is she up to now!"
