I've had enough of cleaning and have opened the wine.
Hester - so sorry to hear that. If you don't mind me asking, what reason did they give? We're going through the process ourselves.0 -
It was always on the cards that we would be refused as they check with ex partners & I knew my would screw it up for me if he could.

Forgot to say:
Cat Whenever there are problems out there, they have a total communications ban, so that the next of kin can be the first to know, and officially not via some internet msg. In a way not nice, as everyone worries, but it would be awful to find out unofficially.
HH Sorry to hear that, did they tell you that or are you just presuming, I wondered if your kids could refute his claims. DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
gosh Hester - so sorry for you.0

Hester - how disappointing for you both. Makes me cross when you think of all the low life on Jeremy Kyle having babies unchecked yet a decent couple like you two get turned down.Do what you love :happyhear0

OOh sorry to hear about the chimney fire...what an awful mess they make and the smell lingers for ages. We burn olive wood and it leaves a residue on the chimney that is flammable....we have special envelopes of powder to burn to stop it going up. When it does go up it sounds like a jet engine in the chimney. ours went up at the old flat, but it wasn't in ours it was burning in the upstairs. when the landlord called to look all we had was one measly log smouldering LOL
Had a good day today, went to the gym in the car as it still looks stormy. Of course, it stayed dry all morning! Could have gone on the scooters, but now I am aching this much I am glad I didn't. Had a word with my trainer who suggested a new weight training routine for me..but instead of easing in gently to the new workout I went hell for leather with it and now I am paying the price....but it feels good LOL
Had fruit and greek yogurt for brekkie, green salad and kalamari for lunch and lamb with veg for dinner. Made a soup with left over raw veg from the fridge and some stock...so a rocket/courgette/onion and lettuce cream soup is ready for tomorrow....its surprisingly tasty.
Got more birthday cards in the post ready for Friday and my OH got his, only a week late so not too bad. My dear sister sent me a surprise 10 euro note. Planning a power walk around Corfu town tomorrow so will gaze in the shops as I shimmy past! Good way to stop me spending too much.
Off to make my evening cuppa.....really enjoying all your posts folks!“The superior man, when resting in safety, does not forget that danger may come. When in a state of security he does not forget the possibility of ruin.” Confucius (551 BC - 479 BC):A0 -
Evening all, jolly cold here now but has been a nice day. Jack had a good walk this morning and Loki(aka evil kitten) came the whole way with us, think it will be a trend now. Good day at school, have told the Head I want to do 3 days from September, seems I might be able to do phased retirement where I can take some of my pension as well as doing 3 days so money drop won't be so drastic. Welcome to Little Vics hope you are getting rid of the smoky smell. Sorry to hear you were rejected HH you would have been great.
Hugs to all in need, hope DH is ok cat-smith. Have a good evening all:)£180.00 in 'sistercas'fund

Hi,
Just popping in to let you know I'm still here. Waiting for meringues to finish cooking so I can switch the oven off. Lunch for 12 ministers tomorrow.
Right. That's enough for today

Evening everyone
I have been reading just dont seem to be getting much chance to post. Still not sure about the new job, seem to be piggy in the middle at home, finding things really hard going having ds1 living with us, not totally his fault, but I am finding it really stressful, trying to keep everything calm. I keep bursting into tears for no apparent reason and am not sleeping all that well. Anyway must keep going as I know others have much worse problems than I do.
os swept lounge floors, washed pots and brought washing in. Yesterday I made microwave plum and blackberry jam, very yummy.
HH - sorry to hear your news, its such a shame.
Cat-Smith - Glad you heard from your dh.
Littlevic - Welcome, sorry to hear about your chimney fire, hope you have managed to get rid of the soot.
Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take Care0
