    Good morning everyone,

how much coffee do i need to wake up? The weekend has been manic to say the least. Saturday all plans went through the window and we had to sort out my sons bus pass for college and buy his stationary. He didnt know what he would be needing until Friday and then he came back with a list. Hubby paid for that though whilst i paid for some new footwear for him as he had holes in his trainers i noticed a few days ago. I think his longboard (skateboard but huge) has got a lot to do with that.

Grocery shopping was squeezed out until Sunday (dont tell God if your religious) as Saturday was spent mainly on college stuff for my youngest and searching for a new phone for me.

I'll be honest, i didnt need a phone as such but the one i had would delete apps if the internal memory was full and the screen was a little too small for my eyesight. Not only do i have a condition called Macular Degeneration, i need to wear reading glasses too but i dont seem to be in the habit of carrying them round with me.

Hubby wanted me to have the phone like his. Not only was it cheaper he reconned it was better value but as i explained to him, its only better value if you can actually see the screen which is something i was struggling with. I still have 12 months left on my contract but will be going on a sim only plan when i finish my contract i think. I dont text very often, hardly ever use the phone but need an unlimited data allowance as all my family seem to be using the Whatsapp messaging service to contact me. A sim only plan will mean i can cut costs without me feeling the pinch.

The workmen are back and i'll be glad when they are finished as the dogs are bringing in an awful lot of dirt on their paws.

Heck ive just noticed the time.....Not only have i skipped breakfast, ive not had my daily medication either.:o

    Have a great day all.

Just taken Skye to the vets to have her passport done, she had to have the rabies jab, she didn't bother as the needle went in, but then she set off scratching and crying, and did not like it at all. We are home now and she has had a couple of treats, but has gone into her bed and is fast asleep, and looks like she is staying in it for a while.

OS wise, the bed has been stripped and a load of washing done and dried on the line, just airing in the conservatory, bed just needs re-making now, DH will help. Tea is use up what is in the fridge:o.

Off in the 'van again on Wednesday until Tuesday, then it will be tucked up until NY.

    Take care all. DG

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?
  • Back from the hospital. I stuck to my guns and had the sedation even though they pushed for me to have the spray. In fact I must have come over as quite aggressive about it, but I wasn't going through with it without :o
It wasn't too bad but they found a 2 cm hiatus hernia and 2 cm grade 2 peptic oesophagitis as well , which will be monitored at intervals. I must avoid anything with caffeine or anything highly spiced, eat little and often and go back on a high dose of lansoprazole :(

Little Vic :eek:Chimney fires are very scary, my Dad always threw salt on the fire to put it out.

helenjelly We had a spate of little toe-rags (for want of a better word ) breaking into cars on local drives a couple of years ago and had DH's briefcase thinking that it was a lap top I would have loved to have seen their faces when all they found was his sandwich box and a writing pad :rotfl: (All his equipment was locked away at the main depot :rotfl:)they did a lot of damage to the van though

    Afternoon all,

Its nice if chilly here between the very heavy showers....OH got trapped in the greenhouse for a while by one....didn't know that he had gone out so was getting worried about him....should have known better.

Electrician was back on Saturday....not finished yet but I reckon that we are at around €500, water coming in at back door now when it pours, have to deal with other leak which is making the carpet in this room damp, and need oil in next 6 weeks, so money being watched very carefully.

Spent a fair bit of weekend doing a crochet blanket and have come up in my usual rash above wrists, so will have to stick to knitting for a few days...will start another blanket, need to go and sort out some wool in a bit, would like to finish one before I start another but needs must....

Hugs to all those who are in need of one or would just like one to make them feel better.....

I didn't get time to post this morning as I was too busy, work was manic & I came home to a message from SS, we been refused as foster carers, very disappointing.

  • Sorry to hear that Hester, you would think that they would be grateful that people are willing to foster, but they are just too picky
Did they give you a reason?
